Kayla is a wonderous child, which leads her to be an investigator. She loves her house, even though it is not much, she is grateful for what she has. She loves baking cookies with her grandma everytime she sees her. Kayla lives in a small house, but they like having it, although they need to move out. Kayla lives in the country with her single mom. She misses her dad who passed away in a car wreck when she was very young. Kayla and her mom spend as much time together as she can, although they both miss her dad. He was a flight attendant back when he was still alive, and always gave Kayla those little wing things. Everything had been different ever since her dad had died, and so has the world.
"WHAM!" Kayla woke up to a loud noise. The house was shaking, and Kayla didn't know what was going on. Her mom woke up and took Kayla into her bed as fast as light. The house was shaking all night. "Mommy, I'm scared," Kayla said. Kayla was so tired she fell asleep, and woke up in her mom's bed alone.
"Honey get up, I'm about to leave for a trip!" Mom said. She was all packed up and ready to go drop Kayla off at her grandma's house for the week. Her grandma lived about twenty minutes away from the airport, so they had to leave a little bit earlier.
"Ok mom i'm ready!" Kayla said ready to go. As they left the house, they realized that a giant earthquake had happened last night! They were lucky to be alive!
"Bye mom! I'll see you this weekend!" Kayla exclaimed. She loved her grandma's house, because it was super clean and always smelt like cookies.
"Hey baby," grandma's old voice said. "Oh how I've missed you!" Her grandma loves her very much, as if she was her child.
"Well I'm going to get going," mom said. She drove to the airport in her Ram 1500. When she got onto the plane, which was REALLY big and full of people, she couldn't find her seat. When she found it, the plane started to rumble. It was time to blast off! When the plane started to fly about 500 feet in the air. An earthquake was happening! The wings flew off of the airplane, and the plane started to fall. Everyone was panicking, and were really scared. The plane split in half and everyone died.
"Why isn't mama back yet?" Kayla said, "she should be picking me up by now, right?"
Her grandma got a phone call from a random number. "Hello?" her grandma said.
"This is the airplane service. Your daughter has been in a plane crash and sadly passed. We are so sorry."
"Wait what?!" Kayla said "she couldn't have died! She was too young! It's not fair!" Kayla began to cry, then started to sob. "Where will I live?! Where will I stay?!"
"I guess you'll just have to live here." grandma said.
10 years later
"Ahhhh" Kayla yawned. It was her 17th birthday! She was so tired, because she had heard screaming and crying all night last night. She had wondered what it was, so she shrugged it off and went into the living room.
"Have you heard about what had happened down the road last night? It was so loud and scary!" grandma's old voice said. Kayla had to go check it out, so she told her grandma she was going for a walk and left. There had been a mysterious murder that happened down the road a very long time ago. That is where the noise was coming from. The house was a really big mansion that an old lady lived in whenever it was still active. No one has lived there in so long, so why would that have just happened? Every step Kayla took, she got more and more uneasy as she went along, but she couldn't back down! She kept going and when she finally reached the house, her friend came running towards her. "Why are you going over there? Did you not hear the noises from last night? You shouldn't go over there!" her friend said out of breath. "I have to go, not just because I want to, but because it's weird that there was a noise, and no one has lived there since! That house is abandoned, and it's almost halloween. It's probably just some stupid teens." Kayla said confidently, and she walked onto the porch, and knocked on the door. "Hello, is anyone in there?!" she said, but no one answered and she heard screaming from the inside. Kayla opened the door and saw nothing, so she kept looking around. Completely silent, she heard rustling from the inner corner. Kayla slowly walked to the corner, and saw a bunch of leaves. "Don't come any closer!" something said in the leaves.
Without hesitation, she ran to the leaves and pushed all of the leaves off of this thing. She saw a human like figure, burned to a crisp, but still human like.
Kayla remembered whenever he was a kid, the mansion had caught fire, and someone was in it. Had the old lady been there the whole time? "Now that you have revealed my secret, you have to die! "SHING!"
Grandma got worried and went to look for Kayla, but she never found her. Her friend knew this was going to happen, because she knew that the lady was still living there, and whoever goes into her house dies. She told Kayla's grandma what had happened, and her grandma started to cry. "Why didn't she listen to you?" She said.
"I don't know, I warned her to not go in there, but she didn't listen."
They both heard screaming coming from the house, but not like any other screaming, it was Kayla! They ran over there and saw blood running down the sidewalk. They saw Kayla very injured. They both carried Kayla home, and to the hospital. It turns out that the lady had stabbed her with a cooking knife, and she was lucky to be alive. A few months later, Kayla was back to normal, and so was life. They called the cops on the old lady in the mansion, and she got sent to a mental hospital for the rest of her life. People now think the house is haunted, by the old lady. Kayla, and her grandma have to keep it a secret from almost everybody. Kayla is now eighteen years old, and now she has realized that The longer your life is, the easier it gets. Also, she learned that as long as you hold onto hope, life will get better. Kayla remembers that, and now tells people her story, but she can't tell them who did it, or can she?
