Chapter Ten

While warming up I saw her and A.L seated at the back of our bench like the first time she watched. I tapped Luke's back to tell his sister is her. I followed him even though I don't have to, but I want to. She is wearing a black skirt and a white top that hugging her body, you can see her curves. You can really see her beauty, since her hair is tie-up in a ponytail and nothing covers her face. She is also wearing just a thin layer of make-up.

"Hi there neighbor" I greeted her first the corner of my mouth twitched up

"Hi to you too." she shortly replied she just give me a little smile and turn her head to Luke "Hello Luke"

I just listen and watch her making conversion with Luke and A.L when our team is calling us back saw Luke gave her and sister a hug, I did to A.L too I should stop right there and went back to the team but I want to give me a hug to so I stop right in front of her. I can see how she hesitates when she looks around first before she hugs me quickly.

"I'm telling you after this game you'll be my fan, heart. And by the way if no one tells you, you look beautiful tonight." I whispered in her ear before letting go. I see how her cheeks turn bright red.

Fuck. Even when I try to ignore my attraction to her, it's always there. Lingering in the back of my mind and the forefront of my heart. I have to give my head a mental shake to get shit under control.

In the third quarter of the game. Jagger Bailey double teamed up in the corner. He passed the ball to Luke to the other end of the court. He is free he definitely can put the ball into the basket but he saw me open in the three-point line and passed me the ball. As soon as I got the ball to my hands and I look at the shot clock there's only 0.5 seconds left I release the ball and it went in thank the fuck everyone in the crowd is cheering, I hit the buzzer beater if it did not it will be a shot clock violation and it will be turn over. I looked at her seat and she's looking at me and I shoot her a wink. Just winked and I did not point at her. I don't know if it was caught on cam or if other people see it, but I don't care. The opposing team called time out after that shot.

After the game at the locker room, they decided to have a drink. I usually don't go with them since I had Rory but tonight Rory is with my parents. Our other teammates were already there, the five of us left here me, Jacob, Jagger, Luke and Dalton we are the last ones to shower after a game. None of them is giving me a hard time so I bet they did not see what I did thank God.

"So who was that girl Maddison huh?" I guess I'm wrong, Jagger asks.

"Was that the girl Luke's eyeing the last time?" Jacob added

"For fucks sake, Yellow is my sister's best friend I'm not into Yellow. And she's War's neighbor now and they are friends now to stop giving War a hard time and me." Luke is on captain mode; he wasn't like this in the court earlier.

I did not add anything once I said something for sure these two idiots won't stop again.

Before we got out Luke said something "My sister and her best friend we'll be there so you two be in your best behaviors" he told Bailey and Hudson.

I try not to grin when I heard she'll be there. I don't know why I just feel excited like a teenager.

Bailey and Hudson are walking together, same with Luke and Dalton and I was at their back, checking my mom's update, she sent me a video during the third quarter game when I hit the buzzer beater my sunshine is jumping and clapping her hands just like she's in the crowd.

I thought Luke was walking first. I am surprised when he nudges me "Saw you there, War." he says.

I play dumb "I don't know what you are talking about cap."

He groans "Come on Maddison I'm not dumb and blind to see it. The way you looked at her at the pre-game. And the wink, let's not forget about that." I was a bit surprised he saw the wink. Before I could even say something, he stopped me.

"I'm just saying that I won't lie to you War, I maybe have a little crush to that woman but not enough for me to pursue her, not just because she's my sister's best friend but also because nothing is there between us–" he paused and watched my reaction "So you don't have to worry about me War. I can also see Yellow is into you too, knowing what happened to her last month I don't think she's ready to enter a relationship as well." he says and went back to Dalton.

Is he giving me heads up or giving me a warning? I'm also not dumb not to notice the strong attraction we both have to each other. I won't even deny it, have you seen the woman? But there's a lot of things to consider first in the list is Rory. I have to give my head a mental shake to get shit under control again.

Now I'm contemplating if I should still go with them or just go home straight. But I need the drink to help me think get my shit together again.
