Annabeth's pov

"Hey!" I greeted the girl with blonde hair that I met yesterday.
"Hiii" she said shyly, twirling her hair around her index finger.
"What's your name? Sorry I forgot it." I said apologetically.
"My name's Swophie Fwoster. Yours is Annabweth Chwase right?" Sophie asked.
"Yea!" I said.
"Do you want to eat lwunch togwether?" Sophie asked, fiddling with her fingers.
"Hell yeah!" Some people I don't recognize replied.

She looked at our confused faces and said "Oh sorry, my name's Reyna and this is my cousin Frank, and Hazel." Frank is a really chubby toddler, with chubby faces but surprisingly not a chubby body. Hazel looks like an average African-American girl with frizzy hair and a really really nice smile. Reyna... well she looks like one of the "cool guys".. so why is she hanging out with us–"the non-populars"?

"Hey! My name's Swophie and this is my friend Annabweth." Sophie said.

And, that's how we met Reyna, Hazel and Frank.

-5 years later-

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BE–
I slammed my alarm clock hard, causing it to fall onto the floor.
I stretched and picked out a cute sweater and shorts for the day.
Dad is already out of the house, so it's only me at home. I don't feel like making anything to eat today so I grabbed an apple on my way out and took out my phone to text Sophie.

We became quite close after 5 years of friendship, we had lots of sleepovers, birthday parties and new friends!! Can you believe it?
Of course, Sophie and I are besties now. And today's the first day of middle school, I'm sure it's going to be okay... right?

Heyyy sry this was a short chappie... and this is kinda a filler one..... idk what this book is leading to tbh so this might be a short story.... I DO have another idea for a new book tho... might finish this one first before starting the other.... sry
