They continued walking with Okami saying it didn't hurt whenever he was asked and just tried to move a bit faster without wincing. They eventually ended up at an inn for weary travelers before the city.

It was mostly made out of light colored wood with few plants or furniture inside, purely the bare minimum. It had two floors next to them with two rooms each, though judging from how the outside of the building was, it was most likely small. There were two elderly woman as innkeepers at the front desk.

"One room please" said Okami pulling a small bag of silver from his bag.

"Five gold," said the elderly innkeeper.

Okami put the bag back in and then pulled out the golden coins which the other innkeeper greedily took. The innkeeper pointed at a door and they both went to it. The room was very small and only had one bed and a wooden chair next to the nightstand near the door both of which could only hold one person at once. He took off his bag, leaving only his knife with him and slumped on the chair.

"I'll sleep on the chair you on the bed" Okami said.

"Isn't the chair uncomfortable?" Akazukin asked.

"It's fine," he responded.

"What if the bad guys find us here?" she asked unable to sleep.

"Then I'll defeat all of them again, I'll even stay awake, so I know if they're here while you sleep," he said.

"Thank you" she said.

Akazukin fell asleep less than 5 minutes later while Okami stayed awake for a while before deciding to doze off as well with his arms crossed, until he heard a small creak of the door.

He didn't move or open his eyes completely leaving them slightly open as he saw the two innkeepers enter. They were approaching his bag.

One. Two. Three.

He quickly grabbed his knife and slashed the innkeeper right in the neck before she could scream as she fell to the floor.

"That's my wife you bitch" yelled the innkeeper.

Okami was standing but a bit dizzy from the sudden movement after being asleep. He lunged at Okami with a fist and hit him in the face pushing him back, almost back to the chair and making him almost drop his knife. The innkeeper thought he was going to fall unconscious mistaking his sleepiness for weakness, but this was far from the worst he'd faced before and so, the innkeeper didn't see the knife when it landed on her heart.
