The school dance was approaching, and Alex was determined to ask Lily to go with them. They spent hours picking out the perfect outfit and rehearsing what they would say. Finally, they found Lily by her locker and nervously asked her. Lily's face lit up, and she said yes. At the dance, as a slow song played, Alex took Lily's hand and they swayed on the dance floor, feeling like they were in a fairytale.

The dance was held in the school gym. The decorations were beautiful, and the music was great. Alex and Lily danced the night away, enjoying each other's company. They also took pictures with their friends and had a lot of fun. But as the night wore on, Alex noticed that some of the other students were drinking alcohol. They knew it was against the rules, but they also didn't want to be a buzzkill.

Suddenly, the principal walked in. The music stopped, and everyone froze. The principal looked around the room, his eyes narrowing when he saw the students with the alcohol. He confiscated the alcohol and sent the students home. The dance was over, and everyone left feeling disappointed.

The next day at school, the principal held an assembly to talk about the importance of following the rules. He also announced that there would be stricter enforcement of the school's policies. Alex and their friends felt bad about what had happened, but they also learned a valuable lesson about responsibility.

Over the next few weeks, Alex and Lily's relationship continued to grow stronger. They were able to spend more time together, and they were even able to convince Lily's parents to let them go on a date. They went to the movies, had dinner at a nice restaurant, and took a walk in the park. It was a perfect evening.

But as they were walking home, they saw a group of kids from school. They were standing on the corner, smoking cigarettes and drinking beer. Alex and Lily tried to ignore them, but the kids started making fun of them. They called them names and made rude comments. Alex felt their face flush with anger. They wanted to stand up for themselves, but they didn't know what to do.

Lily took Alex's hand and pulled them away. "Don't listen to them," she said. "They're just jealous because we're happy." Alex nodded, but they still felt hurt. They couldn't believe that people could be so mean.
