Chapter 19: Liu Kang vs Prince Demande

"Thank you for your assistance, Lord Raiden," Kitana said, smiling at him in relief.

"I'm glad to, Princess Kitana," Raiden said, nodding.

"Lord Raiden," Kung Lao said, walking up to him. It breaks Raiden's heart to see him like this.

"Kung Lao... I'm so sorry..." Raiden said. He blamed himself for not saving Kung Lao from Shao Kahn. If they weren't deceived by Quan Chi, Kung Lao wouldn't get killed.

"It's okay. It's not your fault." Kung Lao assured him. Then he hugged Raiden as he felt happy to see him again.

"Madam Bo! Oh, no! I forgot about her!" He ran up to the poor old lady who got beaten up badly. Everyone checked to see if she was alive or not.

"Madam Bo... is she...?"

"Dead? Not yet!" Apparently, Madam Bo was still alive when she shot her eyes open. She got up and started to smoke a cigarette.

"Madam Bo! Thank the Elder Gods!" Kung Lao cried out as he hugged her.

"Oh, Kung Lao! What happened to you?" Madam Bo asked as she wondered why his body was cold.

"It's a long story, Madam Bo," Kung Lao chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his head.

"Quick, the wedding is about to start," Kitana said.

Raiden was confused. "What for?"

"Liu Kang is going to give up his life to marry the Corpse Bride named Serenity!" Jerrod and Kung Lao said at the same time.

At that moment, Raiden froze as he recognized the name, making everyone worried.

"What's wrong, Raiden?" Jade asked.

"Jerrod, do you know Serenity?" Raiden asked him.

He nodded. "Yes. Why?"

"Serenity is my late daughter," Raiden answered.

"What!?" Everyone said in shock at the same time.

"We must hurry or we'll be too late!" Raiden said as he and the others rushed to the church.

When the wedding ceremony started, Serenity walked towards the aisle where she saw Liu Kang standing there waiting for her. He took her hand and let her stand beside her.

Stolas began the ceremony, "Dearly beloved and departed, we are gathered here to join this man and this corpse..."

When the gang arrived in no time, they found the Earthrealmers befriended the Netherrealmers. Kitana and Raiden spotted Liu Kang and Serenity standing over the aisle.

Kitana was shocked at seeing this. "Liu Kang!"

"Shh!" Nifty hushed her up, glaring at her for almost interrupting the ceremony.

"The living first," Stolas said, smiling at Liu Kang.

He then began his vows as he raised his hand while eyeing Serenity, "With this hand, I will lift your sorrows." He took the empty cup as he continued, "Your cup will never be empty for I will be your wine."

Stolas looked at Serenity, smiling. "Now you."

Serenity didn't say anything. Liu Kang could tell she looked nervous. Eventually, she spoke properly, "With this hand, I lift your sorrows. Your cup will never empty." She said as she brought the bottle of poison. And then she poured the drink as she continued, "For I will be your wine."
