Chapter 5
Carina

The man was handsome. He was tall with black hair pulled hair pulled back. His blue eyes seem to sparkle as he looked at me.

Anna giggled and took my glass from my hands and nudged me to the man. I glare over my shoulder at my friend.

"Go." She practically mouthed. I sighed and take the man's hand. The Man had a smile on his face as he lead me onto the dance floor. I saw my supposed fiancé talking to my father and ignoring me. Michael hadn't said one word to me since we met. We reached the dance floor and the man spun me around and I came up to him with my hand resting on his shoulder and his hand on my waist. I looked up into the blue eyes. They were almost the color of the ocean.

"Congratulations on the engagement." I looked up at his voice. His smile didn't meet his eyes. "You don't seem happy about it." I roll my eyes as we twirl around the dance floor. He was a good dancer.

"Never thought I would be forced into a marriage with someone I don't love. Not like my parents had." I sigh. The man spins me around as couples look at us with interesting eyes.

"You don't like the idea of it being a marriage to deal with Pirates?" The Man asked. I looked at him as we dance near the balcony by the ocean.

"I never had issues with the pirates." He smiled.

"What do you really want, Princess?" There was curiosity in his eyes. I looked at him. "You have everything you want here, but you don't look happy."

"I want to see the world." I said and his smile grew wider. He leaned closer to me. There was a scar right above his lip and the lips looked soft. "What?"

"You know I could give that to you." The man said, dipping her. I looked at him in confusion. "I have a ship and could show you the world." My mouth slightly drops open. His eyes linger on my face. I had makeup on to cover the bags under my eyes. I hadn't been sleeping well since I found out about the engagement and being belittled by my mother for being skinny.

"I can't just leave." I said. The man gives the cocky smirk that I was starting to see as handsome. He leans forward to the point that their noses were almost touching.

"You look like you're not happy here. I saw it when you entered with your fiancé. You have bags under your eyes like you haven't slept." The mans eyes roam over my body and for some reason, my body heated at his gaze. "Your loosing weight. I can see your shoulder bones." I look away. "I'm not critizing you, Princess. You deserve better."

"I have to do what's right." I whisper. The music stopped and the man pulled away. He took my hand and brought it to his lips and kissed it.

"Thank you for the dance, Princess." The man said, letting her hand go. He went to walk away.

"What's your name?" I watch as he stopped. His blue eyes turn towards me and there was a fire in them.

"You'll find out later, Princess." The man walked towards a woman that had a glass of wine in her hand. She was a beautiful woman with black hair and hazel eyes. Her eyes watched me.

"He was very handsome." I turned around to see Anna smirking at me. I felt my checks heat up. "Girl. If you weren't engaged, you should be with him."

"Say it any louder and the others will hear you." I said, linking my arm with Anna and we walk away from the dance floor.

"I don't see your new fiancé asking you to dance. But a strange man asking you." Anna wiggled her eyebrows. I rolled my eyes at her.

"I need wine." I said, reaching for a glass of wine that a servant brought a tray over. I took a long drink. Michael didn't ask me to dance, but my brother did come and ask me for a dance. Leo pulled her into a twirl.

"You look thrilled of this." Leo whispered.

"I'm not. How many times do I have to tell you. I just think they want to marry me off." I wouldn't look at him. There were times they would get along and days they wouldn't.

"Try to look happy, baby sister. You're trying to impress." I glare at my brother. "I don't like what father wants to do with you. You deserve to be happy like I am with Anna."

"Thanks, Leo. Least I know your on my side." I smile up at him as we twirl around the dance floor. "Now, go dance with Anna." I pull away and move off the dance floor. My skirts swish on the floor. I see Michael and my father, laughing like they were old friends. I knew this marriage will make me miserable and unhappy.

Later that night. I came out of the bathroom in my nightgown and robe. The nightgown was white and hung off the shoulders. The maid was putting a hot pan underneath the mattress.

"It will be a fine match, Princess." The Maid said, not looking up as she moved the sheets.

"How do you think it will?" I ask. She quickly looked up and quickly curtsied.

"I... I just think it will. I mean no disrespect." The maid said. I shook my head as I slid over to the bed. The book I was reading before was on the nightstand.

"I don't think it is. Your excused." I said. The maid scurried out. I let out a sigh. My feet was hurting from dancing and being on them all day. I crawl into bed and grab the book I was reading. I looked towards the balcony and the doors were open. A light breeze came off the ocean and blew in. I loved listening to the waves on the sand as I go to sleep. Father didn't announce when the wedding was suppose to happen. I hoped it wasn't going to be long. I opened the book I was reading a fairy princess and a human that fall in love.
