Shinano was quite known in the Sakura Empire, whether it be because of being one of the biggest carriers, or being a well-known narcoleptic. But one thing people don't know about her was her affair. More precisely, her love affair. Despite being one of the marriage candidates for the commander, she felt… ignored. She felt like she wasn't given enough attention. All the attention went to her sister, Musashi. She never felt love, nor did she feel any love towards anyone else. This was going to change though, as several new faces appeared.
Shipboys were starting to get introduced into the Sakura Empire Navy, this was to test their effectiveness. The first batch were several destroyers, who Shinano found cute. The second batch of shipboys were a mix of light and heavy cruisers. One of them, more specifically a light cruiser, took Shinano's interest. He had vibrant yellow hair, it being cut quite short. He also seemed to be a kitsune. So one day, she approached him.
“Hello there”
The shipboy looked at Shinano. He was visibly scared. Well, who wouldn't when a 65,000 ton aircraft carrier approaches you, a small, measly 8,000 ton light cruiser?
“Wh-What do you want from me?”
“Nothing. What are you so worried about?”
Well you're one of the… Yamato sisters, right?”
“Yes, I am. But that's nothing to worry about”
“Then why are you here?...”
“I was just trying to ask why you don't seem to talk to other people?”
“I'm kind of socially awkward. I can't find myself starting conversations…”
“Is that so? How about when someone else starts the conversation?”
“That's the problem… no one starts a conversation with me… they never talk to me…”
Shinano suddenly placed her hand on the boy's head.
“It'll be fine. I'll help you with socializing with others”
“Really?”
“Of course!”
“Thank you… Shinano”
Shinano patted the boy's head.
“Say… what's your name?”
“I am HIJMS Murame. Thank you for providing me with help, Shinano”
“You're welcome”
Shinano smiled, which Murame found attractive.
During the months that came, Murame changed with the help of Shinano. He had become more outgoing and communicative with his peers, which Shinano was proud of. Other than that, several other shipboys arrived, varying from cruisers, battleships, and even carriers. Some did make advances on Shinano, but she ignored them. In the meanwhile, Shinano and Murame grew closer. Murame didn't see Shinano as scary any more. He felt happy and cheerful every time he saw Shinano. Sometimes, Murame helps Shinano with tasks she was doing. It was not long until Shinano and Murame were together on a mission. Their first mission together was an escort mission, Shinano being the one escorted. They were heading to Truk Lagoon, around the far island reaches of Asia.
On their way there, they talked to each other, discussing the usual.
“Do you want to rest on my bosom?”
“H-Huh?!”
Okay, maybe not that usual.
“Where did that come from?!”
