I DO NOT OWN BREAKING BAD OR COBRA KAI. ALL RIGHTS BELONG TO VINCE GILLIGAN, JOSH HEALD, JON HURWITZ, AND HAYDEN SCHLOSSBERG. I TRIED PUTTING A TEENAGED JESSE IN THE VALLEY ONCE AND ALMOST NOBODY GAVE A DAMN, SO THIS IS MY LAST CHANCE AT A BREAKING BAD CROSSOVER WITH COBRA KAI. ALSO, IN THIS UNIVERSE, THE EVENTS OF BREAKING BAD HAPPENED IN THE EARLY 2000'S TO MATCH UP THE COBRA KAI TIMELINE

FACE CLAIM
HOLLY LAMBERT- TAYLOR DEARDEN

Reseda. Los Angeles, California. September 29, 2018.

Holly Lambert slept sounding in the back seat of her mother's old buick. The mother daughter duo had been driving since early in the morning out of Flagstaff, Arizona in the hopes of finishing their cross country trip before it got dark. They'd left at 8 am on the dot to make it to LA by 3 PM. Holly had never been a morning person, so she took the opportunity to catch up on the z's as her mom drove.

Eventually, Holly was woken up by the feeling of being jostled. Her eyes fluttered open and was greeted by the sight of her mother leaning over to the back end of the car. She had never gotten used to see the tired and worn down eyes that belonged to Skyler Lambert

"We're here Holly, I need your help to get our things into the apartment." Skyler said with weariness in her voice.

"Yes Mom." Holly replied as she stretched her limbs before climbing out of the car. As Holly watched her mom start to unload their belongings, she looked at her with her eyes being filled with same emotion she always felt when looking at her mother: pity. The woman looked and acted as if the mere act of existing was draining for her. Her older brother claimed that once upon a time, their mom had been a lady who actually enjoyed life, but Holly hadn't seen it; except in home movies.

There were times when Holly was insanely jealous of Flynn Lambert. Despite having cerebral palsy, the man had graduated magna cum latte from UCLA and had managed to make himself the CEO of the top video game company on the west coast. He was the only reason that they'd left Albuquerque. After losing her job at the taxi dispatch and facing certain eviction and having to pull Holly out of school, Skyler had finally swallowed her pride and asked her son for help.

Flynn had responded by hiring her as a accountant for his company; since she allegedly had experience. Since it was based in LA, the Lambert women packed up and moved. Holly's mom insisted that it was the best thing for them. Maybe they could get lost in the city of angels and their family demon wouldn't follow them.

Holly groaned as she held 3 boxes of clothes and and began walking up to the apartment building that looked even worse than it had on Google (and it had looked pretty damn bad there). Despite Flynn's offer to put them up in a fancy house in Encino, her mom wanted to prove that she could pull her own weight. So she rented out this crappy apartment in some neighborhood called Reseda for next to nothing. When Skyler unlocked the door to their apartment, Holly was relieved to see that the interior looked better that she thought it would. It looked run down for sure, but at least it wasn't roach or rodent infested.

"I know this isn't as homey as our old house...but it's nice enough, isn't it?" Miss Lambert said with a weak smile. Holly could see that her mother knew it was a shitty situation, but she didn't want to admit it. Skyler had too much pride to get her son to pay for them to stay in a nice place. The job that Flynn had given her paid well, but for a while, they were going to be on a budget until Skyler could save up enough to afford somewhere decent. Holly thought of playing the dad card, since pride was allegedly his Achilles heel too, but the last time she'd thrown up her dad in Skyler's face, was also the first time that she'd ever been smacked across the face.

"Yeah mom...it's a real fixer upper." Holly replied with a shrug as she started taking her boxes of clothes to her room; which was smaller than her old room and had only a twin bed. She set her boxes down on the floor before flopping down on the bed.

Holly honestly didn't know how to feel about the move. On the one hand, she missed her old house and her old friends. At least she was familiar with Albuquerque, she knew what to expect there. It was super rough; living with being her father's daughter, obviously. But least she had a couple of friends who didn't give a shit that her old man was Heisenberg. Plus, her aunt Marie was always close by and could be counted on for retail therapy; even if she could be exhausting sometimes.

"Holly, time for dinner." Her mother declared as Holly joined her mother in the living room/kitchen for a meal of hot pockets. They hadn't been able to bring too much perishable food items due to the long ass drive.

"So Holly, I looked up the school and I think it's going to be a good fit. They've got an choir that has won state championship awards." Skyler said as the women ate. Holly's eyes lit up a bit at the news. She had done chior back in the ABQ and she'd found that singing was a way for her to express her admittedly complicated emotions about her existence.

"I'll be sure to audition, mom." Holly said with a small smile as she hoped that maybe some of her mother's forced optimism would rub off on her. As a wise person once said, Fake it till you make it.
