Chapter 33: Why Does It Have To End?

The second last day of term 2
Coco's POV
"Is she here yet?" I ask Bailey as I hear a knock on the door. He shrugs and goes check. On the second last day of school we get to have a sleepover and invite one friend over each. I've invited Katerina, Bailey's invited Stewart and Cindy invited Blueberry. One of our owners goes to the door, "Hey Stewart!" I hear them say. "And you must be Skye!" Wait Skye's here too? Why though? I know they're siblings but she wasn't invited or anything. They come into the lounge with us. "Stewart!" Bailey exclaims. "Hey Skye and Stewart." Cindy greets them. Skye smiles. "Hi." She says. "So Skye.., you staying the night too?" I ask her. She nods. "Our owners are busy tonight so the sleepover was actually convenient." Stewart explains. "We've now got 7, no way is the teepee going to fit us all." Bailey says. "We'll need to get the tent out." Cindy says. The door is knocked again. Surely Katerina this time! Our owners get the door again. "Hey Cloud!" All three of us cough. Cloud?! What in the flipper kitty litter is going on? Cloud comes in. "Oh Cloud! Such a surprise!" I say. One of our owners came into the lounge. "We figured we'd invite one of Skye's friends over because eveeyone here has a friend except for her." "We're going to need the teepee and the tent." Bailey says. "Or will we? It's just cats, small dogs and myself." Cindy says. Soon later, Blueberry and Katerina arrive. Surprised to see Cloud and Skye. The tent gets set up and we sort out our sleeping arrangements. Cindy is at the far back of the tent and we can fit 7, but not 8. So we do end up getting the teepee and putting the entrances facing each other. Bailey is on the left on the side closest to Cindy, Blueberry is also on the left on then side. Cloud and I are in the middle, Cloud's closer to Cindy, Katerina and Skye are on the right side. Then Stewart's in the teepee area. We set up blankets, pillows and make the whole area cozy. "What's on the menu for dinner?" Blueberry asks. "I think we're getting subway." I say. I was right, later after so much fun talking, telling funny stories and bonding we got our subway sandwiches. We get an iPad from one of our owners, we crowd around and decide to watch a movie. We eat popcorn and fizzy drinks. When it's lights out, we all get to bed. So cozy. Soft blankets and pillows and each other. This has been a great night. Why does term 2 have to end so soon?

In the morning it's CRAZY! Our owner's take two cars because there's eight of us. Four in each car. Cloud, Katerina, Skye and I are in a car together. Cloud and Katerina are on the seats while Skye and I are in our carriers. When we arrive at school, there's a big banner on the door that says: "Last Day Of Term 2!" It had a bit from every student in the school. I did the blue heart above the L. I can already tell by looking at it. Why does it feel like the last day of school ever? I mean - everyone's treating like it is but we're coming back to school in a couple of weeks. There's decorations everywhere. Everyone's smiling. Didn't know today would be soooo important but I guess it is! Nothing can go wrong!

Blueberry's POV (later in the day (early dismissal for teacher planning stuff)
"Everyone seems so like overjoyed for this one day." I say. "You're so right!" Elton exclaims. We both smile. "Honestly we'll be back in a couple of weeks, no big deal." He says. Elton is right, we both are. Elton and I sort of just started talking out of nowhere. Suddenly we hear a skateboard approaching us from behind. Elton and I exchange wide eyed looks. We whiz around the see Zane coming at us with speed. He stops with a flip. "Elton! You've grown up! You're talking to girls without my help! Kudos to you." Zane claps. Elton glares at him. I just laugh. Elton looks embarrassed. "Whatcha all talking about?" Zane asks intriguingly. "Shouldn't you go talk to Cloud? On the last day?" Zane blinks a bit. "Oh yeah. See ya!" Suddenly Atlas walks up to us. "Elton! We're having photos! Friend photos!" "Really? I'll be right there." Then he looks at me. "See you later, Blueberry." "See you later, Elton." I say back. Soon enough, my friends steal me for photos too and it really feels like the last day of school forever. But it's not! And I'm glad it's not. Because I ain't going nowhere.

Thank you so much for reading the pet school series. This is the end to the 6th book. But before you say anything, there isn't going to be a continuing story to his particular one.

But - 10 years later,  something new is only beginning.
