From 350 years before the current time to 217 years, the largest scaled war to ever exist had begun. Every major Empire had begun a war so massive scaled, that anything done in the Modern times of thr Galaxy looks inferior to it. Due to Interstellar Tech being so young in this time, War was not as deadly but it was MASSIVELY scaled up.
Laitis and Gourma both were incredibly important worlds, as they boasted the Galaxy's trade centers as well as the largest Industrial output of the Polaris Empire. They alone produced One Third of the Empire's War Munitions as well as equipment.
Eventually after the War, the Abkgoran people were given much more autonomy as they proved themselves to be skilled laborers. However, they still were treated by the normal Polaris people as second class citizens. This was also allowed by the Greater Polaris Government...
So, for over 133 years... the Abkgorans were taken clear advantage of by Polaris. However, this did not stop thr Abkgorans from showing their dissent for the whole thing. The Polaris Government began to notice that as the decades passed... the Abkgorans outnumbered them.
Polaris has 2.2 Trillion people on their homeworld, which is about 10,000 kilometers in diameter. Laitis just 100 years ago had 3.55 Trillion, but it exploded to 8 Trillion in just 40 years. Just 20 years ago, Laitis hit 11 Trillion and Gourma hit 3.4 Trillion people.
Polaris realized they cannot just force down the Abkgorans, and would have to remove their major strengths in order to subjugate the Abkgoran people before they resist and take up arms. At that point, Polaris would never win a protracted conflict.
