I look into your eyes, but it's empty. I watch as your eyes well up with tears, but it's just silence.

"What are you thinking", I asked.

Silence.

"Are you okay?"

Silence.

"What can I do to help?"

Silence.

Suddenly, screaming burst out of your lungs and I watched in horror as you fell apart. You were beaten and fell to your knees. I stood there frozen, unsure what to do. All I could do was stare into your helpless eyes and I too began to cry.

I took a deep breath and slowly walked to you. I hugged you and caressed your head.

"It's all going to be okay. You're gonna be okay"

As soon as the words left my lips, you began to sob and clung to me. I let you cry on my shoulder for hours until you began to feel calm. Our eyes met and I felt relieved. Your tears had stopped, and you were exhausted.

"I think I'm okay now"

I looked into the mirror at my tired eyes with a slight smile.

"You're okay", I said as I walked away.
