Dr. Rose was standing in front of the window of her office and was looking at patients strolling in the front yard of St. Senan psychiatrist Hospital. She looked at the face of a young boy who was trying to catch a butterfly and when he couldn't do so, he sat on the ground and started pulling out grass in frustration. Dr. Rose looked at the boy with sympathy and moved away from the window,
She was about to sit on her chair when someone knocked at the door.
"Yes, come in." Dr. Rose said and looked toward the door.
The next moment, Sheriff Sarah, sheriff Noah, and Emily Harris entered the room one by one.
"Hello, Dr. Rose." Sheriff Sarah said and stood in front of the wooden desk.
"Hello, sheriff," Rose said and looked toward Emily and Noah.
"I hope we didn't get late." Sheriff Noah said and looked toward Dr. Rose with a smile.
"No, you aren't." Dr. Rose said and sat down on her evolving chair and then she said,
"Please, have a seat."
"What was the emergency, Dr. Rose? You are looking tensed." Sheriff Sarah said and looked deeply toward her.
"Yes, there is an emergency for which I called you people." Dr. Rose said and then she gasped out a deep breath and continued as,
"I need to tell you about something significant that happened earlier today."
"We're all ears... What's going on?" Sheriff Noah asked.
"Earlier today, I was having a therapy session with Jack Nolan and he seemed to be in quite a different mood... the session started and he started becoming aggressive... I tried to control his anger and then all of sudden he said something which was totally out of my imagination." Dr. Rose created suspense.
"What did he say?" Sheriff Sarah instantly asked.
Dr. Rose looked toward Emily and then she said.
"Jack Nolan confessed that he murdered eight members of the Harris family." Dr. Rose said in a firm tone and looked toward the faces of Sarah, Noah, and Emily who were looking at her with deep shock. Then she told the details of the whole session that she had with Jack and she noticed her every word was raising the shock of listeners.
In the end, she added, "He claimed he did so in a fit of rage, saying it was to end their oppression of him."
Emily Harris blinked her eyes and then with widened eyes, she said,
"What? it can't be true...That's impossible!"
"What are you saying Dr. Rose, we've conducted a thorough search of all evidence from the crime scene... we have read every page of old files relating to the Harris family murder case, but nothing pointed to Jack being the killer."
"That's what concerns me... Jack's confession could be the truth, but it's also possible his mind is distorting reality... I need to talk to him further to determine the truth." Dr. Rose said in a serious tone.
"Jack cannot do this," Emily said in a low voice. She was in a state of denial.
"What else did he say?" Sheriff Sarah ignored the comment of Emily and asked.
"He said a lot of things that how Harris family were used to beat him and Mia and how they were used to rape them." Dr. Rose said and looked toward Emily whose face was turning red.
"It's a lie," Emily shouted.
"He is a liar and putting such disgusting allegations over my family," Emily shouted again.
