They were on a time limit, so they had to be quick.

(M/N) and Bella ran down the stairs and stopped just before the hotel lobby. Alice and Jasper were waiting in line to check out. (M/N) was grateful the lobby was busy right now.

(M/N) looked back at Bella and put a finger to his lips. He didn't dare speak, knowing full well the vampires would hear them no matter how quiet their voices were.

They silently moved against the back wall of the lobby, farthest away from the front desk. People moved back and forth so they tried to match that pace, not making any obvious movements that would catch Alice's already divided attention as Jasper tried to talk to her. They were still waiting to reach the front.

(M/N) and Bella slipped out the front doors as quickly as they could while not making any noises that would cause the vampires to turn around. They stayed out of sight and called a taxi, and gave the man the address for the ballet studio once they hopped in the back. It was completely dark out now. He watched the buildings pass by. This was it, the end of the line.

(M/N) had never really given much thought to how he would die. It shouldn't have been something he had to worry about at the age of 17. Moving to Forks had completely changed their lives. He had never felt so alive, and yet here he was, on his way to dig his own grave. There was so much more he wanted to do. They had been shown an entirely new world of things that only seemed possible in the land of imaginations, and it felt so cruel to have it taken away from them as soon as they dipped their toes into it. (M/N) looked at Bella. He could tell she was thinking about Edward, wishing she could see him just one more time. He hoped she would. If he could convince James to spare her and Renee, then at least something good would come out of this. Maybe then Bella could continue to live this incredible life.

(M/N) was filled with nostalgia as they drove by. They were nearing their destination, he could tell from all the surrounding places he and Bella used to hang out at. The park with the little kiddy sand pool, where they would build sandcastles together. The big eucalyptus tree they would climb on. The rusted old playground that they always had to themselves, because it was barely usable. They would sit there for hours until the stars came out, imagining any scenarios their minds could come up with, before Joseph and Renee would finally convince them it was time to go home.

(M/N) was brought back to reality when the driver announced they had arrived. The big ballet studio looked menacing in the dark. There was no one else around, it was just them.

They paid the driver and hopped out, standing by the front door as they waited for him to drive away.

"Are you ready?" Bella asked when he did.

(M/N) shook his head. "No."

"Me neither."

Bella tugged on the door handle cautiously. It was unlocked. She slowly opened the door and they stepped inside.

The lobby was dark, empty and cold. The plastic chairs were all stacked against the wall. The west dance floor was pitch black, but the east one had faint light coming from it. The teens prepared themselves to move when suddenly Renee's voice echoed out.

"Bella? Bella?" There was clear panic in her voice. Bella was sprinting through the door immediately, (M/N) close behind.

"Bella? You scared me, don't ever do that to me again!" Her voice reverberated throughout the large room.

"Where is she?" (M/N) asked as they looked around.

"I–I don't know," Bella said. Suddenly they heard Renee laugh, and whirled around.
