"God, Give Me a Sign!!"

Kaito sighed as he walked next to the school fields, "Dammit! I have so many girls swooning over me, but none of them can match my excellence!"

Aoko, heated after hearing this snapped. "Excellence my ass, Bakaito!"

"If they keep up, I'm going to be single forever...", Kaito self-deprecated. Being single definitely had its up-sides, it makes it easier to keep his identity as 'Kaitou KID' a secret. On the contrary, it also was a bit lonely (also because it made him feel single when he saw random couples in the halls, not that he would say that aloud).

Aoko chuckled at him, "If you feel so single, why don't you do that trend that's going on recently?". Kaito stopped in his tracks.

'Can she read minds now?!'

Aoko glanced over confused, "Why did you stop? Is it because don't know the trend? You should know! The one where people tell God to give them a sign! And then their soulmate falls in their arms!", she only received a scoff.

"Aoko-san... you do realize that those videos are all set up right?", Aoko rolled her eyes.

"Of course! That doesn't matter, it can't hurt to try, you have no public image anyway! Also, remember the bet you lost last week? YEA?! BAKAITO, REMEMBER???"

After many minutes of 'calm' convincing, Kaito stood below the rooftop. He looked at Aoko with a glare that clearly said, 'I'll get you back for making me shout in public and embarrass myself!'. Aoko just gave him an innocent grin in return. He took a deep breath...

Shinichi was walking with Ran and Sonoko. They were the only available friends he had. Hattori was too 'busy' to hang out with him. (Yea, right. Probably busy on a date with Kazuha.) And he didn't exactly have any other friends. His mind wandered one of the cases he had been called to recently. He hadn't gotten a lot of sleep, if any sleep at all.

(Shinichi-san!)

'Life has been so busy ever since I turned back. It's probably since I skipped so much of school.'

(Shinichi-san!!)

His vision blurred, 'The antidote I'm taking right now might even not be effective years later. I need to find the Black Organization as fast as possible...'

(SHINICHI-SAN!!!)

The high schooler suddenly snapped back, just before he lost balance and fell. He saw his childhood friend stretching out her arm while running to reach him. He tried to reach for her hand, but only their fingers brushed. His face darkened in fear as the concrete below his disappeared. A shout rang through the air, "GOD, GIVE ME A SIGN!!"

Shinichi woke up in the nurse's room and heard light breathing on the left side of his bed. He turned to see a student, most likely around the same age as him. The male had messy hair, which spiked in the back, other than that, he looked quite like Shinichi. The stranger (who probably saved his life) was resting his head on the side of the bed in a light sleep, with his hands intertwined with Shinichi's.
