The hospital room was quiet once again, the soft hum of machines and the occasional rustle of sheets the only sounds that remained. The Avengers had reluctantly dispersed, each giving Peter and MJ their blessings before stepping out to let the new parents rest. Now, it was just the two of them, the twins, and the warmth of the moment.
Peter gently rocked the baby in his arms, his gaze fixed on the tiny features of his son. His dark eyelashes brushed against his chubby cheeks, and his little fingers curled around Peter’s thumb.
“Can you believe it?” Peter whispered, glancing at MJ. She was cradling the other twin, her head leaning back against the pillow, her expression serene. “We’re parents.”
MJ smiled softly, exhaustion evident on her face but overshadowed by pure joy. “I know. It feels... surreal. Like, how did we even get here? But now that they’re here, I can’t imagine life without them.”
Peter chuckled. “Yeah. And they’ve only been in our lives for a few hours.”
MJ looked down at the baby in her arms, tracing the soft curve of his cheek with her finger. “They already have you wrapped around their little fingers, don’t they?”
Peter grinned. “Completely. I’m a goner.”
A soft knock at the door pulled them from their reverie. Before Peter could say anything, the door creaked open, and Morgan poked her head in. “Hey... can I come back? I promise I’ll be quiet.”
Peter exchanged a glance with MJ, who nodded. “Of course, Morgan. Come in.”
Morgan stepped into the room, a hesitant but excited smile on her face. In her hands, she held a small gift bag, decorated with colorful balloons and a handwritten tag that read, “To the best nephews ever.”
“I wanted to give this to them,” Morgan said shyly, placing the bag on the side table. She approached the bed, her eyes wide with wonder as she looked at the twins. “They’re so small.”
“They’re perfect,” MJ said, smiling at her. “Do you want to hold one?”
Morgan’s eyes widened. “Really? Can I?”
Peter shifted slightly, carefully placing the baby he was holding into Morgan’s waiting arms. Her movements were slow and deliberate, her expression one of pure awe as she cradled her nephew.
“Hi, little guy,” Morgan whispered, her voice soft. “I’m your aunt Morgan. You’re gonna love it here. We’re all a little crazy, but we’ll take good care of you.”
Peter watched the interaction, his heart swelling. “You’re a natural, Morgan.”
Morgan glanced up, her smile beaming. “Well, I am a Stark. It’s in my blood.”
They all laughed softly, the sound filling the room with warmth.

Later that night, the room grew quieter as the twins fell into a peaceful sleep, snug in their bassinets beside the bed. MJ dozed lightly, her hand resting on the edge of one of the bassinets, while Peter sat in the chair next to her, his head tilted back against the wall.
The moment felt fragile, like glass, shimmering with beauty but delicate to the touch. Peter’s thoughts swirled as he gazed at his sleeping family. He couldn’t believe how much his life had changed in just a few short hours.
A soft vibration from his phone on the table broke the silence. Peter picked it up, careful not to disturb the babies, and saw a message from Tony.
Tony Stark: Get some rest, kid. You’ve got a big day tomorrow. We’ll be back bright and early to help you figure out those names.
