Facing just Gu Xiangsi was challenging enough, but now with her teacher, Jin Xiaoqin, present, ‘Ye Meijing’ felt her situation was dire. The real concern was that Jin Xiaoqin, an elder of the teaching hall, couldn’t discover that she had hired a bodyguard.

“Master, no matter what happens next, you must hold back!” Realizing the gravity of the situation, ‘Ye Meijing’ quickly warned Feng Ya.

Though displeased, Feng Ya, being one of the Twelve Gate Masters of the Cangyu Sect, was aware of Jin Xiaoqin's status and character.

Within moments, the two had arrived before ‘Ye Wenxin’ and ‘Ye Meijing.’

Gu Xiangsi approached with a cheerful smile, making ‘Ye Meijing’ nervous, but Feng Ya stood motionless, seemingly unwilling to embrace Gu Xiangsi or let their presence disrupt her plan.

“Sis, did you eat something bad? You seem different today.” Unlike others, Gu Xiangsi was more straightforward and assumed ‘Ye Wenxin’ was just nervous when Feng Ya remained silent.

‘Ye Meijing’ wanted to intervene but feared revealing details that would expose her, so she gestured for Feng Ya to handle it herself.

“Oh, just a bit nervous,” Feng Ya grumbled, her voice mimicking Ye Wenxin’s but still carrying an inexplicable chill.

Despite her attempt to feign emotion, Feng Ya lacked both emotional intelligence and acting skills. If Gu Xiangsi hadn’t been so naïve, Feng Ya’s performance would have already been called out multiple times.

‘Ye Meijing’ regretted her decision more with each passing moment, as Gu Xiangsi continued, unaware.

“So, you’re just nervous, sis. Don’t worry too much; my master said you’re already in the top fifty and plans to recommend you to the other elders as a disciple.” Gu Xiangsi’s innocence shone through, yet today’s ‘Ye Wenxin’ gave her an unusual feeling, which tempered her usual closeness.

‘Ye Meijing’ sighed with relief initially, but the latter part reminded her of Gu Xiangsi’s real purpose—introducing Ye Wenxin to her master, Jin Xiaoqin.

Noticing the shift, Jin Xiaoqin stepped forward. “So, you’re Ye Wenxin. You truly have talent.”

Jin Xiaoqin wasn’t strikingly beautiful, but her features were pleasant, with a rare heroic spirit. She gave ‘Ye Wenxin’ a polite smile.

Jin Xiaoqin’s strong personality left ‘Ye Meijing’ both impressed and concerned about convincing her to take on a new disciple.

“Thank you,” Feng Ya replied, accepting the compliment on Ye Wenxin’s behalf without modesty.

“Master, my sister’s just nervous; she’s not usually like this.” Sensing her teacher’s displeasure, Gu Xiangsi tried to smooth things over, gesturing desperately at ‘Ye Meijing.’

Was it ‘Ye Meijing’s’ imagination, or had Gu Xiangsi deliberately distanced herself from Feng Ya, suspecting something amiss?

Perhaps due to her master’s presence, Gu Xiangsi treated Feng Ya as Ye Wenxin, preserving ‘Ye Meijing’s’ disguise.

“Indeed, Wenxin didn’t sleep well last night; she’s just nervous.” Following Gu Xiangsi’s lead, ‘Ye Meijing’ supported ‘Ye Wenxin.’

Jin Xiaoqin chuckled, shifting her gaze to ‘Ye Meijing.’ Compared to ‘Ye Wenxin,’ she found ‘Ye Meijing’ more agreeable. Despite Gu Xiangsi’s request, ‘Ye Wenxin’ reminded her of the irritating Feng Ya.

The aura and gaze, excluding the significant appearance difference, made Jin Xiaoqin uncomfortable. She discreetly used her divine sense to confirm there was no disguise, easing her mind slightly.

The conversation was mostly led by ‘Ye Meijing,’ who entertained Jin Xiaoqin, earning her laughter and inquiries about her name.

“I’m Wenxin’s sister, Ye Meijing, from the Shenwang Territory. I’m just here to watch my sister today.”

‘Ye Meijing’ made up an identity for herself, noting Jin Xiaoqin’s emotional shift between ‘Ye Wenxin’ and ‘Ye Meijing.’

“Well, if you ever wish to leave the Shenwang Territory, Cangyu Sect’s doors are open to you.” Jin Xiaoqin seemed disappointed but smiled, patting ‘Ye Meijing’s’ shoulder before leaving Gu Xiangsi behind to linger.

Finally, ‘Ye Meijing’ and Gu Xiangsi both breathed sighs of relief, exchanging a look.

In an instant, sparks flew as Gu Xiangsi voiced her displeasure, “Sis, why didn’t you tell me you hired a bodyguard? I almost exposed everything by bringing my master over!”

‘Ye Meijing,’ who intended to admonish Gu Xiangsi, found herself chastised instead. She couldn’t comprehend why everyone she didn’t expect had appeared before her and Feng Ya today. Chuckling wryly, she tried to calm Gu Xiangsi.

“How was I supposed to know you’d rush and bring your master?”

“You don’t know? People are talking about you at Cangyu Sect, saying you have no skills but powerful backing, even claiming the Shengshi Dynasty supports you.” Gu Xiangsi’s tone was tinged with envy, recalling her connections with the Shengshi Dynasty.

Now, Ye Wenxin was tied to the Shengshi Dynasty, but Gu Xiangsi was no longer the former princess, merely a true disciple of the Cangyu Sect’s teaching hall elder, without her brother Gu Aotian’s support.

“They’re saying that? But I really have no backing!”

‘Ye Meijing’ laughed, recognizing Gu Xiangsi’s good intentions in finding her a true master. However, with Feng Ya right beside her, she couldn’t betray her.

Despite her preference for Jin Xiaoqin over Feng Ya, these thoughts remained internal. To pacify Gu Xiangsi, ‘Ye Meijing’ continued to console her...

Their conversation continued, with Feng Ya silently standing nearby, her brow furrowed.

She lost count of how many times she frowned today. The more she learned, the more she doubted Ye Wenxin’s character. Xiao Zhang’s age was acceptable, but this girl didn’t seem over sixteen, making Feng Ya question if ‘Ye Meijing’ was open to all.
