The city lights blinked in the dark sky as Jungkook walked home from work. His hands were deep in his pockets, and his thoughts felt heavy. The streets were crowded, but he didn’t see any of it. His mind was elsewhere.
He thought about Jimin.
He thought about their laughter, the way Jimin used to smile, and how warm his hugs were. But then, the memories of heartbreak came rushing in. Jungkook clenched his jaw. He had tried to forget, tried to leave it all behind. Jen was his life now, and they had built something real together. But Jimin's face still haunted him sometimes.
Jungkook sighed deeply as he passed the park. Suddenly, he froze.
On a bench, under the streetlight, someone was sitting alone. Jungkook's heart skipped a beat. The figure looked familiar.
"No…" Jungkook muttered to himself.
But it was him.
Jimin.
Jungkook's breath hitched. His heart started pounding in his chest, fast and loud. He couldn't believe it. Jimin was right there, sitting only a few steps away.
Jimin looked up and saw Jungkook. His eyes widened in shock.
"Kookie?" Jimin whispered.
Hearing that name made Jungkook's chest tighten. He hadn't been called that in years.
"Jimin," Jungkook said, his voice low and cold.
For a moment, neither of them moved. They just stared at each other. The city sounds faded, and all Jungkook could hear was the rush of blood in his ears.
Jimin stood up slowly, his hands trembling. "Can we talk?"
Jungkook's first thought was to walk away. He didn't want to reopen old wounds. But something held him back.
"Fine," he said stiffly.
They walked to a nearby cafe without saying a word. Jungkook picked a table in the corner, away from everyone else. They sat down, facing each other.
The silence between them was thick and uncomfortable. Jungkook stared at the table, waiting for Jimin to speak.
"I've missed you," Jimin said softly.
Jungkook looked up, his eyes sharp. "Why are you here, Jimin? Why now?"
Jimin swallowed hard. "Because… I need to tell you something. I made a mistake, Kookie. The biggest mistake of my life. I lost you because of it, and I regret it every day."
Jungkook's hands clenched into fists. "You didn't just lose me. You destroyed us, Jimin. I gave you everything, and you..." He stopped, his voice breaking for a second. "You threw it all away."
Tears filled Jimin's eyes. "I know. I know I hurt you. I was selfish, and I was stupid. I don't expect you to forgive me, but I had to say it. I had to tell you that I'm sorry."
Jungkook leaned back in his chair, his jaw tight. "Sorry doesn't change anything. I've moved on. I'm with Jen now. She's my family."
Jimin wiped his tears quickly. "I'm not asking for anything, Kookie. I just… I needed you to know how much I regret what I did. That's all."
Jungkook stared at him for a long time. Finally, he stood up.
"I forgive you, Jimin," he said. "But I can't forget. Goodbye."
Jimin's lips trembled, but he nodded. "Goodbye, Kookie."

Jimin woke up with a gasp, his heart pounding. He looked around the dark room, confused.
"It was a dream," he whispered, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
Beside him, Mino, his little boy, was sleeping soundly. His tiny thumb was in his mouth.
Jimin let out a shaky breath and picked Mino up, holding him close. "Just a dream," he whispered, kissing the top of Mino’s head.
The smell of coffee and pancakes floated into the room. Jimin smiled as he stood up and walked toward the kitchen.
Jungkook was standing by the stove, flipping pancakes. He was humming a song softly, his messy hair falling into his eyes.
"Good morning," Jungkook said, glancing back with a smile. "You two slept in today."
Jimin walked closer, holding Mino tightly. "You made pancakes again?"
"Of course," Jungkook said with a wink. "Mino loves them."
Jimin laughed softly. "Mino isn't the only one."
Jungkook turned to face them, holding out his arms. "Come here, my loves."
Jimin walked into his arms, resting his head against Jungkook's chest. Mino giggled, reaching out to touch Jungkook:s face.
"Daddy!" Mino said, his voice still sleepy.
"Good morning, little man," Jungkook said, kissing Mino's cheek.
Jimin looked up at Jungkook, his eyes soft. "I love you."
Jungkook smiled, leaning down to kiss Jimin's forehead. "I love you more."
Jimin closed his eyes, feeling the warmth of his family around him. His heart felt full. Whatever fears or regrets he had, they didn't matter anymore.
This was his happiness. His forever.
