After ensuring that everyone had returned to their work, Karishma turned to Haseena. Noticing Karishma's unusual behavior, Haseena asked softly, “Kya hua, Karishma Singh? Sab theek hai na?”

Karishma replied, her tone calm but serious, “Sab kuch bohot badiya hai, Madamsir. Lekin hum aapse ek zaruri baat karne aaye hain. Aapko yaad hai uss din jab ek lorry aapki gaadi se takra gayi thi aur aap cliff se gir gayi thi? Woh aadmi mil gaya hai.”

Haseena's eyes widened, the memory flashing vividly in her mind the screeching tires, the violent collision, and the sheer terror of the moment. She steadied herself, her voice shaky but laced with curiosity. “Woh aadmi?” she whispered. “Uska pata kaise chala? Aur woh ab kahan hai?”

Karishma took a step closer, her expression intense. “Hamare informers ne uska location trace kiya hai, Madamsir. Woh lorry driver kisi aur ke orders par kaam kar raha tha. Abhi hamare paas ek strong lead hai.”

She paused briefly before adding, “Pehla kadam yeh hai ki us driver ko pakadna aur usse sach ugalwana. Uske baad humein us mastermind tak pahunchna hoga.”

Haseena straightened her posture, her resolve solidifying. “Aap bilkul sahi keh rahi hain, Karishma Singh. Jo bhi iske peeche hai, usse samne lana zaroori hai. Hum dono milkar us lorry driver se tasalli karenge. Aur ek bhi galti ki gunjaish nahi honi chahiye. Humein wahan civil dress mein jaana hoga.”

Karishma nodded, her expression firm. “Aap theek keh rahi hain, Madamsir. Humein aise approach karna hoga ki usse hamare iradon ka zara bhi andaaza na lage. Toh chaliye, nikalte hain aur dress change karke mission ki taiyari karte hain.”

Haseena gave a small nod, her resolve unwavering. As Karishma turned to open the door, she realized it was jammed. Frowning slightly, she tried to pull it open with more force, but it wouldn’t budge.

“Ama bakk, yeh darwaza!” Karishma muttered in frustration, bracing herself to give it another try.

“Rukiye, main dekhti hoon,” Haseena said, stepping closer. Their hands brushed briefly as both reached for the handle at the same time, the small contact sending a faint spark through the air. Haseena instinctively pulled her hand back, her cheeks tinged with a light pink, while Karishma’s confident demeanor faltered for just a second, as Haseena's mere touch made her spine shiver.

They both again leaned into the task, their shoulders occasionally brushing as they tried to dislodge the door. The proximity brought back memories of their earlier almost-kiss, unspoken emotions lingering in the air. The faint scent of Haseena’s perfume surrounded Karishma, making her heart skip a beat, while the warmth radiating from Karishma made Haseena’s heart race unknowingly.

Finally, with a loud creak, the door gave way. Karishma stumbled slightly backward, and instinctively, Haseena caught her, steadying her by the arms. For a moment, time seemed to freeze as their eyes met, the world outside fading into silence.

“Dhanyawaad, Madam Sir,” Karishma murmured, her voice barely above a whisper, her usual confidence softened by the unexpected closeness.

Haseena’s hands lingered for a second longer, the warmth of the moment holding her in place, she composed herself and stepped back to create some space between them.

With the door finally open, Karishma went out hurried to change into her civilian clothes. As she walked, she found herself questioning what was happening. What am I doing? she thought, confused by the unfamiliar feelings stirring within her whenever Haseena was around. On the other side, Haseena too wondered about the strange emotions she was feeling in Karishma's presence something she had never expected or thought possible.

Both of them decided to shrug off whatever they were feeling for each other, choosing instead to focus on the mission ahead.
