Y/N couldn't stop staring at the acceptance letter. The bold "CONGRATULATIONS!" at the top of the page felt surreal. He had passed the U.A. entrance exam. He was going to be a hero.

"Kiddo! Kiddo, did you open it? What's the verdict?!" Twice's voice echoed from the kitchen as he barreled into the room, nearly tripping over the corner of the rug.

Y/N held up the letter, grinning. "I got in, Dad. I actually got in."

Twice froze, staring at the letter as if it were a treasure map. Then, without warning, he whooped loudly, grabbing Y/N and spinning him around.

"You did it!" Twice cried, tears streaming down his face. "I knew you could do it! My son, the hero-in-training! Do they know how lucky they are? No, they don't! But they'll find out!"

Y/N laughed, the whirlwind of emotions catching up to him. "Thanks, Dad. I couldn't have done it without you."

"Me? Pfft! This is all you, kiddo!" Twice declared, setting him down and ruffling his hair. "But hey, we should celebrate. Ice cream, fireworks, karaoke—you name it!"

The days that followed were a blur of preparations and excitement. Y/N started classes at U.A., meeting new people and diving into the world of hero training. He kept in touch with Twice as much as he could, texting updates and sharing stories.

But as Y/N's new life blossomed, the shadow of Twice's villainous ties loomed. He tried not to think about it, focusing instead on his dream.

Then everything fell apart.

The mission was simple: a group of League of Villains operatives was dispatched to disrupt a U.A. training exercise in the city outskirts. Twice hadn't wanted to go—he'd begged Shigaraki to send someone else—but his pleas fell on deaf ears.

Now, standing in the middle of the chaos, Twice's heart shattered as he spotted Y/N among the students.

"Dad?" Y/N's voice was a mix of disbelief and dread as he froze mid-step, his new hero gear glinting in the sunlight.

Twice's hands shook, his mask doing little to hide the tears already streaming down his face. "Kiddo..." His voice cracked. "I didn't—I didn't know you'd be here."

"Get ready!" one of the students shouted, stepping into a defensive stance.

"No! Wait!" Y/N yelled, holding up a hand to stop them.

The hesitation was all Twice needed to drop his weapons and raise his hands in surrender. "I don't want to do this!" he cried, his voice breaking. "Please, let's just stop!"

But the battle was already underway. One of the other villains attacked, forcing the students to scatter. Y/N barely had time to react before Twice was in front of him, trying to shield him from a stray blast.

"Dad, you have to stop this!" Y/N pleaded, his voice desperate.

"I know! I know!" Twice sobbed, his clones flickering into existence around him as his quirk activated involuntarily. "I don't want to hurt you, kiddo. I can't hurt you!"

But the chaos around them didn't stop. A clone lunged toward a group of students, and Y/N, caught between his instincts and his emotions, had no choice but to intervene.

"Dad, stand down!" Y/N yelled, launching himself toward the clone and striking it down with a practiced move.

Twice flinched, watching his son fight the duplicates with tears streaming down his face. "I don't want this! I just wanted to celebrate with you! Why does it have to be like this?!"

Y/N was exhausted, physically and emotionally. The sight of his dad—his biggest supporter—broken and crying in the middle of a battlefield was too much.

"Then stop!" Y/N shouted, tears in his own eyes now. "You don't have to do this, Dad. You don't!"

Twice fell to his knees, his clones disintegrating as his focus crumbled. "I tried, Y/N. I tried to walk away. But they don't let people like me leave. I—" His voice cracked, and he clutched at his mask. "I'm so sorry, kiddo."

Before either of them could say anything more, the pro heroes arrived, forcing the League into retreat. Twice hesitated, looking back at Y/N one last time.

"I'm proud of you," he whispered, his voice barely audible over the chaos.

And then he was gone, pulled away by the other villains before the heroes could capture him.

Back at U.A., Y/N sat alone in the dorm common room, replaying the events in his mind. His body ached from the fight, but the pain in his chest was worse.

"He didn't want to hurt me," Y/N murmured to himself, staring at his shaking hands.

One of his classmates approached cautiously, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Y/N... are you okay?"

Y/N wiped at his eyes and nodded, though he didn't feel okay. "Yeah. I will be."

Deep down, he held onto the hope that his dad's love was stronger than the circumstances pulling them apart.

And maybe, just maybe, they'd find a way to fight for the same side someday.
