XO, Kiss Me!

"What the fuck?" Were the first three words Taehyun muttered in the span of only five minutes he had been to their house. 

Jake smiled at the sight of a very bemused Taehyun from the kitchen as he poured some ice-cold water to drink for his friend who had travelled in the heat just to see him. "What?"

"You're telling me that you, Sim Jaeyun, the one who had a crush of many years on Lee Heeseung and Park Sunghoon, is dating them?" Taehyun, exasperated, said. "No way. I don't believe it."

Jake walked towards Taehyun before handing him the glass. He sat down next to Taehyun on the couch and slapped his shoulder. "Why? Shouldn't you be happy that your once miserable single friend is now in a happy relationship? That too with two hot men?"

Taehyun scowled, slapping the younger's shoulder back. "You started dating them two months ago and you told me just now? You've started keeping secrets from me, Jake!" He then dramatically sighed, slumping against the couch. "Things aren't the same anymore. You don't tell me anything while I blurt out every single detail in my life to you. So sad." He jokingly pouted. 

Jake fondly rolled his eyes at his friend's dramatic antics and propped a pillow on his lap as he made himself comfortable on the couch. "Now that you're done acting dramatic, do you want to hear how all that went?" 

Taehyun also repeated Jake's way of sitting. "I must be crazy to ever answer no to that question." He smirked. 

Rewind to the time when Jake had gone on that first blind date. The guy he went out with also from Australia so they got off to a pretty great start. The only strange thing was that they bonded over Thor.. who was played by an Australian actor too. 

After the first date, they immediately began planning for the second date and for once, Jake felt that if this kept on going, he might truly get over Heeseung and Sunghoon.

But unfortunately, that didn't happen. 

When Jake was on the second date with Alex at a fancy Italian dinner restaurant, he spotted Heeseung and Sunghoon just a few tables away from his. And that immediately downgraded his mood for the rest of the night. 

He saw Heeseung feeding Sunghoon some cabonara pasta and then gently swiping away the mess that the food made from the corner of Sunghoon's lips with his own thumb.

Jake lost all his appetite at that exact moment, but that sucks because he was looking forward to eating all these delicious meals at this restaurant. 

Alex looked at him with concern. "Everythin' okay?"  And Jake nodded with a tight smile on his lips. He felt bad. Alex was truly the nicest guy he has ever met, he didn't deserve someone who was still in love with other people. 

Alex smiled at him before continuing his dinner. And throughout the date, Jake made more efforts to hide himself from the other couple rather than making actual conversations with Alex. 

When the date was ending and they found themselves walking out from the restaurant, Jake turned around to face Alex. "I'm sorry."

Alex tilted his head, curious. "Sorry for what?"

"Um, I don't think I would want to proceed to a third date." Jake bit his lips, not even wanting to look at Alex, afraid that he would see disappointment. "I'm sorry."
