( yes, his father named him after himself because of course he did ) was once peter parkers best friend, back when they were toddlers. unfortunately, young wade kept dying, a habit at this point, and it was freaking out the neighbour kids ( another gift from his father ) resulting in them moving and young wade being stuck in homeschooling with his mother, while his father ran around with a certain mutant.

then, the impossible happened. his father retired. wade was sure he'd jumped into some kind of alternative universe, one where his father was now suddenly interested in his life outside of teaching him how to kill people and swear. but, he wasn't going to complain, it wasn't as bad as he thought, especially when his father passed on his suit and katanas to him ( yes, there was a ceremony. yes, his father accidentally killed him, but that's just water under the bridge ).

now, wade is freshly seventeen and ready for junior year of high school back in his hometown of queens, which means, a ten year reunion with his childhood best friend peter parker, school photographer, resident nerd and your friendly neighbourhood spiderman. wade also happened to notice, that growing up had done his friend wonders.

but, with wars on the horizon, a general likelihood of being dismembered, and a team of superheroes who happen to very much dislike his father, it's only a matter of time before wade does something stupid, like, oh, maybe, kissing his best friend. but that's just a possibility, it would never happen.
