The streets were eerily silent as I stood there, looking up at the overcast sky. My heart was still pounding from the fight, a mix of adrenaline and satisfaction coursing through me. It was over. I'd proven my point. There was no one left worth my time here.
I tilted my head, speaking to the emptiness around me. The drones hovered at a safe distance, ever-watchful, their mechanical eyes capturing every word, every movement.
"I'm done playing your little games, Nezu," I called out, my voice sharp but calm. "You've had your show, and I've had my fun. But let's not pretend this was ever about your students or their precious ideals. This was about me."
I paused, letting the weight of my words hang in the air.
"Well, consider your lesson learned. I've proven everything I needed to. So, what now?"
The silence stretched, thick and oppressive. Then, a faint shimmer appeared before me—a distortion in the air, like heat rising off the pavement. A portal.
The edges of the portal crackled with an otherworldly energy, dark and foreboding. I felt a familiar pull, a whisper in my mind that told me exactly who was on the other side.
"Finally," I muttered, stepping toward it without hesitation.
As I crossed through, the cold air of the abandoned city was replaced by the oppressive atmosphere of a vast, shadowy chamber. The portal closed behind me with a soft hiss, and I stood before the man who had orchestrated so much of my life.
All For One.
He sat on his throne, his figure cloaked in darkness, but his presence was overwhelming, suffocating even. And yet, it didn't intimidate me. If anything, it felt like coming home.
"Ahhhh Izu," All For One said, his deep voice resonating through the room. "Or should I say... Usagi. You've outdone yourself."
I smirked, tilting my head in a mock bow. "I aim to please."
He chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that sent shivers down the spine of anyone who didn't know him like I did.
"You've proven your worth yet again," he continued. "The world is watching, and they've seen what you're capable of. Nezu's precious heroes couldn't touch you. Not even Shigaraki could stand against you."
I leaned against a nearby column, crossing my arms. "Shigaraki... now, there's a name that keeps coming up. You're quite invested in him, aren't you?"
All For One's tone didn't change, but there was a subtle shift in the air. "Tomura has his role to play, just as you do."
"Sure," I said, waving a hand dismissively. "But let's not kid ourselves. If it came down to it, you'd pick him over me, wouldn't you?"
The silence that followed was telling, but it didn't bother me. I already knew the answer.
"You've always been sharp," All For One finally said. "But you misunderstand me, Izuku. Tomura is important, yes. But you..."
He stood, descending the steps of his throne until he was face-to-face with me. His hand rested on my shoulder, a rare gesture of affection that felt almost... fatherly.
"You are irreplaceable," he said, his voice softer now. "You're more than a pawn in this game. You're my greatest creation, my legacy."
I looked up at him, my smirk fading into something more genuine. For all his manipulations, for all the darkness he embodied, All For One was the closest thing I'd ever had to a father.
"I know," I said simply.
He gestured for me to sit, and I dropped into one of the chairs that lined the room. A servant brought me a drink—tea, of all things—and I sipped it casually, my mind replaying the events of the past days.
"Nezu won't recover from this," All For One said, sitting across from me. "You've shaken their faith in the system. And Shigaraki..."
"Shigaraki will need some time to lick his wounds," I finished, setting the cup down. "But he's resilient. He'll bounce back he is the next generation of hope after all. Not that it matters. I'm the one they'll remember."
All For One nodded, a glint of approval in his hidden eyes. "And did you enjoy yourself, Izuku?"
I couldn't help but grin. "Immensely. Watching them scramble, seeing the fear in their eyes... it was exhilarating."
"But," I added, leaning forward, "this isn't the end. It's just the beginning, isn't it?"
All For One's smile was as unreadable as ever. "Indeed. The seeds of doubt have been planted. The next time they see you, it won't be as part of a game. It will be as a force they cannot ignore."
I nodded, feeling a spark of excitement at the thought. The world was a stage, and I was ready to steal the spotlight.
"Good," I said, standing. "Because I'm not done yet and I need some pretty damn good heroes to keep me entertained."
"Well said my boi... well said." All For One replied, his tone almost... proud.
As I turned to leave, the faintest hint of a smile tugged at my lips. I'd made my point. And now, it was time to make the world listen.
