The following morning at Stark Tower was unusually peaceful. After the chaos of the previous day, everyone had agreed to take it slow and focus on healing, both physically and emotionally. However, Stark Tower being what it was, “peaceful” was a relative term.

Harley was up early, tinkering with one of Tony’s half-finished projects in the lab. Morgan was nearby, sketching designs for what she called the “ultimate baby defense suit” for Joey and Max.

“Do you think Dad will let me use the vibranium stash?” Morgan asked, holding up her notebook.

Harley snorted. “Not a chance, Mini Stark. Vibranium is for Avenger-level emergencies, not baby helmets.”

Morgan frowned, but before she could argue, Peter walked in with a sleepy expression, holding a cup of coffee.

“Morning, Trouble Squad,” Peter greeted, ruffling Morgan’s hair as he passed.

“It’s afternoon, Spider-Dad,” Harley teased, glancing at the clock.

Peter groaned. “Don’t remind me. The twins didn’t let us sleep much last night.”

Morgan looked up from her sketches, her face softening. “Are Joey and Max okay?”

“They’re fine,” Peter assured her. “Just... loud.”

Morgan smirked. “Guess they take after you.”

Before Peter could respond, MJ walked in carrying Joey, who was babbling softly. Max was still asleep in his bassinet, which MJ placed on the lab counter with the ease of a mom used to balancing everything.

“Tony’s looking for you,” MJ told Peter, her tone half-amused, half-exasperated. “Something about calibrating the security system again.”

Peter sighed, sipping his coffee. “Can’t it wait?”

“Apparently not,” MJ said, smiling. “He’s in full grandpa mode. You know how he gets.”

In the main living area, Tony was indeed fussing over the holographic security displays, Steve standing beside him with a patient expression.

“Pete, there you are!” Tony said, waving him over. “Come check this out. I’ve upgraded the tower’s defenses—again—and I want your input.”

Peter raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t it already practically a fortress?”

Tony grinned. “It was, but now it’s a smart fortress. Face recognition, motion sensors, EMP-proof systems... the works.”

Steve rolled his eyes but smiled. “Translation: Tony stayed up all night tweaking things after yesterday.”

“Hey, can you blame me?” Tony said, gesturing to the display. “We’re not letting anything like that happen again. Not on my watch.”

Peter’s expression softened. “Thanks, Dad. For everything.”

Tony waved him off, but his voice was quieter when he replied, “That’s what family’s for, kid.”

Later in the day, the Avengers gathered for a casual lunch in the common area. For once, there were no urgent missions, no alarms blaring, just laughter and conversation. Joey and Max were passed around, each Avenger taking turns holding the twins.

“Wow, they’re so tiny,” Bruce said, carefully cradling Max. “I forgot how small babies are.”

Natasha smirked. “Careful, Banner. They can sense fear.”
