Everything was going so well in our small little town of Santa Barbara, California. People were smiling, the sun was shining, lovers were being cute. Then there's me. Hi, I'm Hannah Hart. A really short homosexual YouTuber with awesome hair and the cutest dog ever. I live in this tiny little apartment with my best friend, Grace Helbig. She's such a babe. I have honestly had the biggest crush on her for quite sometime now. I obviously haven't told her because it would ruin everything. Our friendship, our partnership, and I would have to live with someone who feels awkward around me. So, let's not go down that path.
I walked into the kitchen to find Grace standing there in nothing but an over-sized, Rolling Stones t-shirt and her red, laced underwear. This is normal in this apartment. I walked in and grabbed myself some cereal because I was way to hungover to make breakfast.
"Hey dork. How'd you sleep?" Grace asked.
"Sleep? I don't even know what that is anymore." I said following a giggle from Grace.
We went through the whole morning without speaking as per usual because who wants to talk in the morning? For me, it was like she was ignoring me but by lunch time, she was talking up a storm. We went to lunch at Nando's with our good pal Mamrie. It was great being able to hang out together as the Trinity again. Our fans call us The Holy Trinity. Not sure why but we liked it so it stuck. When we sat down, we started discussing our future together and of course, the topic of marriage came up. Mamrie was planning on marrying the hunk of an actor named Channing Tatum while Grace's plan was to live alone with her 7 dogs and 3 pet goldfish. Which is completely irrelevant because she's like the female version of Mark Wahlberg. When it was my turn, I was speechless. If I was to discuss my dream wife, I might as well just say Grace. I'd describe her as tall, brunette, and really good at Yahtzee. It'd be a dead giveaway. So I just told them that I had no idea what I wanted my future to be like. Which was somewhat true.
"So, Hannah. Have you had your eye on anyone ever since you and Swike broke up?" asked Mamrie.
Of course she had to ask about my love life. AGAIN. Swike is my ex-girlfriend and also my manager. Cool right?
"I have been looking but nobody has exactly caught my eye." I said looking over at Grace.
I noticed that once I said that, she lead her eyes down to her plate, looking depressed in that moment. I didn't really question it at that time. I didn't want anything to get to stressful for anybody. Now that I look back, I regret not asking because it would have prevented all the shitty but worth while experiences that follow.
"I have to go. I'll call you guys later alright?" Grace said trying to hurry from the table.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"My mom's. It's.. uh, my brother's girlfriend's cat's funeral. Big deal. See you guys." Grace said without any hesitation of leaving the table.
Did I say something wrong? Should I have told her how I felt? The answer was uncertain at the time but Mame and I just went on with our delicious lunch together. After about five to ten minutes since Grace left, I felt my phone vibrate. I get text all the time so I thought nothing of it so I just ignored it until after dinner. Which, was the worst move that I have ever made on my part.
