Having a true best friend is probably one of the greatest things a person could have. Everyone needs someone to lean on, a person who understands them and doesn't judge them for bad choices, but helps them through it instead.

Some people will only have one for their whole life, passing through milestones together and growing alongside one another. Some people meet them at work or in college and then stay friends forever no matter where they end up.

That's what Sheila thought when she and Ava decided to room together. She thought that was it, they had sealed their fate and they would always be close to one another.

Now she's not sure where they stand. Ava still hasn't been back since their fight and Sheila hasn't reached out because she's trying to give her space. It's not that Sheila's not sorry, she just doesn't know how to apologize for something she doesn't plan on changing.

When she sleeps at Harry's he wakes her up with kisses and cuddles and before their fight when Ava was home she used to wake up to Ava's alarm. She's not used to waking up alone and she apparently doesn't have an internal clock so when she wakes up for the day she's really late for class. She's usually up two hours before her first class' scheduled start time so she can eat and pack and do whatever needs to be done, but today she only woke up 15 minutes before.

She jumps out of bed with a start, pressing the call back button on her phone seeing she missed two calls from Emma. She's been keeping an eye on her since Ava left, but Emma's out even earlier than Sheila is so Emma checks on her via text every morning.

Sheila quickly explains that she overslept while pulling on the first shirt and pair of leggings she finds from the pile of clean wash she left on her desk chair.

In record time she brushes her teeth and hair, washes her face, and puts on deodorant before grabbing her bag and jacket and heading out the door. She quickly walks to her first class of the day, arriving only a couple minutes late.

When she settles into the back of the classroom she sends Harry a quick good morning text.

They've gotten into a habit of that now, texting each other good morning and good night and most of the time they talk straight through the day. No matter how many times they do it though, it always makes her stomach fill with butterflies when she wakes up to a message from him.

Harry texts her back quickly. She knows he'll stop answering in a bit since he has class starting as well and unlike her, he isn't able to respond during it.

H: Morning love x

> How are you?

S: Alright, woke up late

H: Were you able to eat

S: No :(

> I'll get something after your class

H: See you soon xx

She puts her phone away quickly so she doesn't get in trouble, counting down the minutes until she gets to see Harry again. Even though he'll be Mr. Styles and she's just another student in his class, it's still nice. At least she gets to stare at him for an hour.

With Ava gone she's been lonely. They may not talk as much as they used to, but Sheila always misses her when she's gone and that's usually only for a weekend. Until now they never spent a day not talking since they met.

Sheila has to try to find a way to make things better between them, she just has no idea where to start.

Right before class ends her phone buzzes with another message, she checks it as she quietly starts piling her notebook and laptop back into her bag.
