"Alright, so we're all feeling well rested?" Sonic asked. The heroes all stood there staring at him as Sonic pulled out the artifact and the spellbook out.
Byleth groaned, "First of all, we're going to eat, therefore don't TOUCH THAT!" Sonic looked at him as Byleth took the artifact out of his hand. Sonic looked at him in shock as Chrom walked over to him.
"Don't be so inconsiderate," Chrom muttered. He grabbed the artifact out of his hand and set it down. "Go eat, I'll handle the stuff with Sonic." Byleth kept staring at him and just walked off. Chrom walked over to Sonic and sat on the couch.
Sonic replied, "Well then, let's go ahead and just review about the things that bandit ended up getting." Chrom nodded as he reviewed the artifact. It appeared to be an ancient tablet. "Can you read any of the writing that's on there?"
"No... it seems to be a language none of us are familiar with..." Chrom muttered. Sonic looked over as Chrom was cleaning off all the gunk that was on the artifact. "Hm... I wonder if there's anyone who's able to read what is on here."
Sonic replied, "No doubt that there's someone out there that knows what this says... but is there anyone we're already familiar with who does already?" Chrom looked at Sonic and just stared at the tablet in silence. He took a deep breath and just went to look at those who were eating breakfast.
"Sonic?"
"Huh? You need something?" Chrom stared at Sonic as Sonic realized what was in front of them. "AH! Right... sorry sorry! I didn't mean to dismiss you like that." Sonic brushed the back of his head as Chrom giggled. He took a deep breath and continued staring at the tablet.
Chrom muttered, "If only there was a way to read this..."
"You think the spellbook will work?" Sonic asked. Chrom looked over and grabbed the spellbook out of the bag. Chrom started looking though it to get a better look at what was within the contents of it.
Chrom explained, "Doesn't seem to be anything that can help us... most of these are just spells." Chrom lifted up the book and out of nowhere he was able to perfectly see what was written on the tablet. "W-What is going on...!?" Sonic dashed over to see and the spellbook had translated everything.
"Okay... that was not something I knew the spellbook was capable of doing. Both fascinating and... terrifying!" Sonic laughed. Chrom stared at it as he saw the words.
Chrom read, "As the days go by there are blossomed fields. And as the days continue to crash down, there was nothing in the end. Fear filled the body and fear filled the mind. The people want peace but so many are simply two-faced." Chrom stared at the book and raised an eyebrow. "What the...?"
"Okay what type of nonsense is this goddess yapping about?" Sonic asked.
Chrom muttered, "It appears to be somewhat important in relation to the goddess. I mean it was written in her native language which most likely means it was just for the goddess only." Sonic nodded as Chrom kept staring at it.
"Erica loves keeping her own secrets after all, that asshole doesn't care a THING about us, it's really shameful of her," Sonic shrugged. Chrom nodded as he set the book down. "Well that provided us no information, what do you suggest we do?"
Byleth walked over and sighed, "Keep it for safekeeping. If we bring it somewhere there's a likely probability of it being stolen again." The two looked over as Byleth grabbed the bag. Chrom put the stuff into the bag as Byleth wrapped it up. "I'll keep this with me."
"Who declared that YOU were going to keep that stuff with you?!" Sonic asked. Byleth didn't answer and went upstairs to his room. "Uncalled for..."
Chrom replied, "It's fine. Let's leave Byleth alone before he gets even more irritated. I'm afraid he's been irritated with us." Sonic let out a sigh as Chrom gently patted him on the back. The two got up and got their breakfast as most team members were about finished eating.
"Hope breakfast serves you all well!" Kirby cheered. Sonic and Chrom gave a nod to Kirby as they started eating. Mario was checking some things over using the security system. Tails was working alongside him.
Mario sighed, "What do you-a suggest that occurred when Sonic and Byleth were outside chasing that robber?"
"I'm guessing what happened is that the robber knew something about the stuff in the bag that we didn't. After all, they were pretty determined to keep the bag with them," Tails explained. He continued watching the cameras as Mario was reviewing what occurred during the evening.
Mario muttered, "The bandit appears to have-a long hair. Look here, they have long white hair specifically."
"I was about to go, ROBIN?! But then you mentioned the long hair and now I don't know who that could be..." Tails said. Mario got the cameras trying to get an identification on the person but it was unable to detect who it was. "Looks like this is a job for us!"
Mario mumbled, "Who could this-a be...?"
"My bet is that it's someone from outside of the city. I mean everything about them is suspicious and I doubt someone from the town would be wanting to steal the artifacts that are hidden within the town," Tails explained. Mario nodded and then decided to send a police report with the camera footage as evidence.
Mario sighed, "Well, for now we're going to-a leave this to the police. But surely, they'll be able to find some clues..." Tails nodded as he looked at the camera.
"I mean I know the technology is strong for the cameras but wow, not being able to recognize the bandit MUST mean something," Tails exclaimed. Mario nodded and soon left the room. Tails sat the computer trying to see if he can make the cameras be able to recognize people more easily. Soon Sonic sped in and spun his hat around. "Hey Sonic!"
Sonic gave Tails a thumbs up and replied, "What's going on?"
"Trying to see if I can make the cameras stronger by having them recognize the suspect. This is the only proper photo we got of them," Tails explained. Sonic walked over and looked at the photo in one of the monitors. Tails was doing things on his own personal laptop.
"Silver long hair? I do not remember seeing them with that type of hairstyle," Sonic mumbled as he crossed his arms. Tails continued typing on the laptop before eventually turning back to Sonic.
Tails analyzed, "That's why I'm assuming they're from either the city or somewhere else. Judging by our data records we only clearly gotten, Micaiah, Robin, and Edelgard all registered for people with white hair. Edelgard is in Adrestia, Micaiah would never end up stealing an artifact especially since she's on the team. While Robin is... Grima and doesn't even have long hair." Sonic nodded as he got a closer look at the figure.
"You've checked if someone has an ahoge?" Sonic asked. Tails moved the chair over and realized the person did in fact have an ahoge. "No?"
Tails asked, "How did you manage to catch this detail!? Oh my god! Sonic! SONIC! This is it! This is a crucial part in finding our suspect! Let me inform the police station at once!" Sonic chuckled as Tails got to quickly getting off the cameras and rushing his way toward the police station.
