The evening was tense. Jungkook sat at the head of a long, dark table, his mind far from the business talk. Drugs, alliances, threats....none of it mattered right now. His thoughts were on someone else. Someone unexpected.
His younger sister, Aera, had started school recently. There was one teacher who caught his eye.
Jimin.
Jungkook didn't think much about teachers, but Jimin was different. The way he spoke to the students, especially Aera, caught his attention. Jungkook had seen it when he dropped Aera off--Jimin was kind, but firm, in a way Jungkook respected. He found himself thinking about Jimin more than he wanted to.
Jungkook was a big man 💪. Tall, broad-shouldered, with a tan from being out in the sun too much. His black hair was messy, hanging over his dark eyes. He wore a sharp black suit that fit him perfectly. His serious face matched the cold persona he worked hard to maintain.
"Jungkook," Minseok, his underboss, interrupted his thoughts. "The deal is set. Are we moving forward?"
Jungkook blinked, pulling himself back to the moment. "Yes," he said, his voice steady. "We're moving forward."
But his thoughts kept drifting back to Jimin.
Later, Aera came home with a letter from school~~~something about her behavior. Jungkook wasn't sure what to expect, but when he saw Jimin's name on the paper, his heart skipped.
"Mr. Park Jimin," Jungkook read, his pulse quickening. This was his chance to meet the man who'd been on his mind.
He called his driver. "Take me to the school."
When Jungkook arrived, he went to meet the principal, but his real reason for being there was simple. He needed to see Jimin.
When the door to the teacher's lounge opened, Jungkook saw him. Jimin was talking to another teacher, his back turned. But even from behind, Jungkook knew. Jimin stood tall and ☺️☝️and confident. His clothes were simple but fit perfectly—jeans and a button-up shirt. But it wasn't just his looks. There was a quiet authority in the way he carried himself.
Jimin turned, and their eyes met. There was a flicker of recognition before Jimin's calm, controlled expression returned.
"Mr. Jeon," Jimin said, his voice calm but firm.
Jungkook nodded, surprised by how the sound of his name coming from Jimin felt different. "Jimin," he replied, trying to sound casual. "I'm here about Aera."
Jimin motioned to a chair. "Please, take a seat."
Jungkook sat, but Jimin's gaze was heavy on him. It made him feel uneasy, like he couldn’t hide anything from the teacher
"She's a smart girl," Jimin said, flipping through Aera's file. "But she's stubborn. I've been firm with her, but she's afraid of authority."
Jungkook nodded. Aera was strong-willed, but she needed someone to push her. "I'm sure you're doing your best," he said smoothly. "But I'm not sure a 4-year-old really understands discipline."
Jimin looked up at him, a slight smile on his lips. "You'd be surprised. Kids understand more than we think."
Jungkook was quiet for a moment. He hadn't expected Jimin to be so... insightful.
"So, what do you suggest?" Jungkook asked.
Jimin's face grew more serious. "She needs consistency. If we work together, she'll do well."
Jungkook thought for a moment. "What do you need from me?"
Jimin’s smile returned, though it was small. "I need your cooperation."
There was something unspoken in his words-an authority Jungkook couldn't ignore.
Jungkook leaned back, a smirk tugging at his lips."Cooperation, huh? What else?"
Jimin's smile grew, but he didn't respond. Instead, he simply said, "I trust you'll do what's right."
Jungkook couldn't help but feel something--a mix of respect and something deeper. He didn't know what it was, but it was there.
Before he could ask anything else, Aera rushed into the room, shouting, "Oppa! I'm hungry!"
Jungkook smiled as his little sister jumped into his lap. Her chatter broke the tension between him and Jimin.
Jimin watched quietly, a small smile on his face.
After the meeting, Jungkook stood to leave. He turned to Jimin. "Thanks," he said, his tone softer than before.
Jimin nodded, his eyes gentle. "It was nice to meet you, Jungkook."
For a moment, Jungkook felt a strange pull toward him. It was something he hadn't expected.
'Until next time," Jungkook said, his voice low, barely above a whisper.
Jimin smiled again, a quiet promise in his gaze.

That night, Jungkook sat at his desk. His phone buzzed. He looked at the message.
'I'm sorry for earlier. Aera's a wonderful girl. I look forward to working with you."
Jungkook smiled and typed back quickly. "I look forward to it too. Aera will be fine with your help."
The reply came fast. "Thank you, Jungkook. I'm sure we'll make a great team."
Great team. Those words stayed with Jungkook. But they meant more than just their work with Aera.

The next day, Jungkook couldn't stop himself. He found his way back to the school. He just wanted to see Jimin again.
He walked through the quiet hallways and knocked on the door to Jimin's classroom.
"Come in," Jimin's voice called.
Jungkook stepped inside. Jimin stood by the window, talking to a colleague. Jungkook's heart raced. Jimin looked so calm, so in control. It only made Jungkook more aware of how much he was drawn to him.
Jimin turned, their eyes meeting. "Jungkook. What brings you here?"
Jungkook took a step closer. "I wanted to check on Aera. How's she doing?"
Jimin smiled. "She's great. A little shy, but she's smart. She'll open up."
Jungkook felt relieved. "That's good to hear."
Jimin's gaze softened. "Aera is lucky to have a brother like you."
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat. "She's everything to me."
For a moment, they stood there, just looking at each other. The tension was thick, and Jungkook didn't know what to say next.
But before he could speak, Aera ran into the room, smiling. "Oppa, let's go get ice cream!"
Jungkook laughed, distracted by his sister's energy. "Sure, Aera. Let's say goodbye to Mr. Park first."
Aera looked up at Jimin. "Mr. Park, do you want ice cream too?"
Jimin smiled. "I wish, but I have to work. See you tomorrow, Aera."
As Jungkook left with Aera, he couldn't help but glance back at Jimin. The feeling between them still lingered.
It was just the beginning. Neither of them knew where it would lead, but Jungkook knew his life was about to change.
