Part 2

"Bella! Astrid!" A woman's voice came from across the hall. Realizing where and when I was, I could only assume it was Bella's mom, I mean our mom, Rene Dwyer.
"We're gonna be late for your flight! Cmon girls! All the luggage is in the car!"

"Coming!" Bella and I responded at the same time. I giggled knowing that was such a classic twin thing to do. I was an only child in my past life, parents were always working so I was always alone. It felt so nice finally having someone by my side. I started to get emotional, tears falling down my checks.

"Astrid? What's wrong? Are you nervous?" A concerned Bella grabbed my hands. I kept sniffling. "N-no. I'm just emotional today. It's a big day. I feel like something big is gonna happen, ya know? Change and all." I smiled weakly at her. Bella's face was full of understanding. I knew that she wasn't too keen on leaving. She gave me a tight hug.

"Let's go. Cmon. Your big sister is here. Together..." she gave me her pinky.

"Forever." We intertwined our pinkies. How did I know that? Twin telepathy I suppose.

We walked outside to the warm morning of Phoenix. Bella went to grab a little succulent , a reminder of the sun. The drive to the airport was normal. Small chatter from our mother, radio playing softly in the background.  Once we arrived, Rene started crying.
"Oh, I'm gonna miss you girls. Best thing to ever happen. Please email me when you guys get to Charlie's. Promise?" She hugged us both.
"Yes, mom.  I love you." Bella and I hugged her back. "Bye Phil. Take care of mom and have fun on the road." We said at the same time.

We waved good bye and held hands as we made our way to the terminal.

Flying wasn't bad. In my past life, I had never flown on an airplane. Time passed by quickly, seeing that Bella lulled me to sleep while she was reading her Wuthuring Heights book. She was only 5 minutes older, but she always took care of me as if she was years older and I was a little girl. It made my heart swell. I know that she grew up taking care of Rene and never really had a childhood. It was still the same except with me added into the mix.

Bella shook me gently, signaling that we had landed. I stretched and yawned. We were here in Port Angeles. I was getting nervous and a bit excited to meet Charlie. He was such a sweet guy and a great dad.  He was lowkey my favorite character. I'm glad he is my dad in this new life. We departed the plane and began walking together, hand-in-hand. Bella was the first to spot Charlie holding a sign that read 'Swan Twins Chauffeur'.

"Why is dad so goofy?" I laughed. Holding Bella's hand, I began to walk faster.

"I don't know" Bella struggled to keep up. Oops. I forgot she was clumsy.

"Sorry Bells. I'll slow down. I don't want you to trip." I sheepishly let go of her hand and walked towards Charlie. I gotta play the part now. I was excited. Seeing my dad, my new dad that loved me.

"Dad!! I missed you!" I hugged him tightly. He smelled of Old Spice and warmth.

"Hey, baby girl! Oh, look at you! You grew like what, a foot taller?" He ruffled my curly light brown hair.

"Daad. My hair! And no, just an inch!" I tried to smooth down any fly aways. I punched him lightly on the shoulder.

"Bells! Good to see you honey. How was your flight?" She gave him an awkward side hug.

"Hey Dad. It was good. Astrid here was asleep for it. I kept myself entertained with my book." Bella blushed lightly. I noticed that she actually spoke more to Charlie in this life. A memory hit me;

'Cmon Bella! You have to give dad a break. He's trying his best. He loves you so much.' A younger version of this new me told 14 year old Bella.
'I know but it's still hard for me to communicate with others..be-besides you!' She waved her hands nervously.
'It's okay. I'll help you practice' we laughed synchronously.
