Chaos erupted in the intensive care unit once again when Mom Luang Chatklao and everyone helped to meticulously search for evidence. There is a possibility that Phorn may have been murdered, as observed from the numerous marks found on the body that did not result from ordinary resuscitation efforts. There were abrasions around the deceased's lips, as well as blood found under the fingernails. The nurses and nursing assistants on duty all confirmed unanimously that there were no bruises resembling gunshot wounds on the chest and face, and the stains on the pillow raised further suspicion. Two crucial pieces of evidence tilted the scale towards murder. From inquiries with the emergency room nurses, it was revealed that while transporting an emergency patient to the observation room, a man who claimed to have a stomach ache suddenly vanished.
"Khun Phorn, I'm sorry." Trinetra stifled a sob, while Chompoo looked pale. Chatklao was more stressed than ever.
"I will contact Colonel to arrange for the body to be sent.”
They plan to send Phorn’s body to the forensic department to check, hoping they can get more information.
“Are you sure, doctor, that Khun Phorn was murdered?”
“To be honest, I don’t know either, but there are many things that raise suspicion. How could Khun Phorn, who was doing much better this morning, suddenly stop breathing?”
Trinetra was silent. Everyone felt guilty. The patient had just woken up today, but now he suddenly died. If the family found out, they would be very upset.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have left the patient alone.”
“Now is not the time to blame yourself, but I want you to reconsider. If Phorn was indeed murdered, what I don’t understand is how the perpetrator knew that the patient was conscious.”
“Or did someone tell the perpetrator about this?” another doctor analyzed.
“Have you informed other relatives about Khun Phorn waking up?”
“Not yet, doctor. You just removed the ventilator and ordered no visitors, so I planned to wait until he was better before calling.”
“So only a few people know about this,” Chatklao turned to Trinetra and Chompoo before asking, “Has anyone suspicious visited Khun Phorn today?”
Trinetra thought for a moment, she then remembered the chaos that happened when Khun Phorn hugged a young woman, causing her to have to inject him with sleeping medication.
“Yes, someone visited Phorn earlier this morning.”
“But I haven’t allowed anyone to visit. How could someone sneak in?” Chatklao countered.
Trinetra lowered her head, feeling guilty like the other nurse.
“I really don’t know. But when I came out of the drug mixing room, I saw her standing there. Phorn even pulled her in and seemed to whisper something to her. We all need to work together to catch her.”
“Her? You mean the person who visited Phorn is a woman?”
"Yes, it's the person who sells food to the people in the hospital, the slim one riding a motorcycle."
