Brave Allstar and BFFs Vs Brain Tumor

Chapter 1

Hot shot is eight years old.  He is a very active and playful child. He lives with his father Heatwave and his mother Quickshadow. They all just moved to a new house in Fort Worth Texas.

Heatwave is a firefighter who got transferred to a local fire station. He is a very brave and strong man. He has helped save many lives in his line of work. He has responded to fires, car wrecks, and other types of emergencies. He has the respect of his fellow firefighters. He is also very loving, kind and understanding. He loves his wife and son very much.

Quickshadow is a pediatric oncology nurse. She is very kind and helpful woman. She helps many kids fight cancer everyday and just started to work at Cook Children's hospital. She treats kids with many different types of cancer, but mainly kids with brain tumors. She has respect of the doctors and her fellow nurses. The patients and their parents love to see her. She is very loving, caring and understanding. She loves her husband and son with all her heart.

Hot shot loves his parents a lot too. Hot shot is a very active and playful child. Hot shot loves sports, animals, the color yellow, to play outside and be helpful. Hot shot is the kind of child who enjoys physical activity. He has a playset he loves very much. It was made by a good friend of his father's when they moved in. Hot shot has his favorite toy, a stuffed rhino named Roxy. Hot shot does his best to listen and obey his parents. Hot shot was also going to his new school and getting used to his new life there in Fort Worth. 

Hot shot is an all around very healthy child too. Hot shot would often get bumps, cuts, scrapes and bruises. But all children get those, and active children like Hot shot get them more often. Hot shot sometimes got fevers, or sore throats, or tummy aches, but he got over them quickly. He never been to the ER or Hospital. His parents were happy for that. They were very happy about having such an active child. However soon things began to change.

Hot shot woke up with an awful headache half way through October. His head had been hurting slightly for the past couple of days but it wasn't too bad. His parents knew about the headaches and normally gave him medicine for it. But today his head really hurt a lot. It was worse than before.

He came up to his mother. "Mummy my head hurts again," Hot shot said.

"Another headache?" Quickshadow asked kneeling down to his level.

"Yes and it hurts worse than before," Hot shot said. "It really hurts," he said.

Quickshadow gave him more medicine for his headache. Then Hot shot went to school. Hot shot was feeling worse as time went on. He was feeling tired all the time and he was having trouble with his balance and coordination. Hot shot didn't like that part because it made it hard for him to play the sports he enjoyed so much. 

Hot shot's head was also starting to tilt to the left. While he was at school today he felt very sick to his stomach and threw up in front of the class. His parents had to come and pick him up. They knew they had to do something about. "We are going to take you to Cook Children's hospital right now because something must be very wrong with you right now," Quickshadow said and handed him Roxy the rhino.

Hot shot was watching stuff going by. He was wondering what the hospital was like. He hated that his head hurt so much and that he felt so sick. He was hoping the doctors there could make it all better. He didn't like this at all. He just hoped it would be over quick.

Hot shot soon saw Dragon as the pulled into a parking lot of a large building that looked almost like a castle. Hot shot saw the dragon looked very happy and friendly. Hot shot was wondering if Cook Children's Hospital was a very nice place.

Hot shot noticed the car was being parked. Hot shot got out of the car and followed his parents inside. 

They entered the hospital. Hot shot saw it was very big and wondered what this place was. "What is this place?" Hot shot asked.
