Taehyung follows his friend Jimin into a convenience store, complaining the whole way. "I don't know why I have to come with you to this place. It's so boring and common," he mutters, rolling his eyes.
Jimin ignores his friend's complaints and heads straight for the snack section. He grabs a few bags of chips and other snacks, scanning the shelves for anything else he might want.
Taehyung pouts, looking around the store with an unimpressed expression. He's more used to fancy, high-end shops where he can spend a lot of money on expensive clothes and accessories than this small-town convenience store.
As he aimlessly wanders the store, Taehyung notices something unusual near the checkout counter. There is a small rack that is selling matchboxes. His eyes widen slightly as the memory of last night's event comes back to him.
He walks over to the rack and picks up one of the matchboxes, examining it closely. Suddenly, Jimin appears next to him with his arms full of snacks. "What're you looking at?" Jimin asks, curious.
Taehyung puts down the matchbox and turns to Jimin. "Nothing, just looking at these matchboxes," he replies casually, trying to hide the fact that he was thinking about his encounter from last night.
Jimin eyes the matchbox and then looks at Taehyung's face. "Huh," he says, arching an eyebrow. "Since when do you get interested in matchboxes anyways?"
Taehyung huffs and rolls his eyes, quickly getting annoyed by Jimin's questioning. "Mind your own business, Jimin," he says, a hint of irritation in his voice.
"Oh, someone's grumpy today," Jimin teases, a smirk on his face. He holds up the snacks in his arms and says, "Come on, let's go pay for these so we can leave."
Taehyung frowns and grumbles under his breath, but he follows Jimin over to the checkout counter to pay for the snacks.
As they wait in line at the checkout counter, Taehyung and Jimin notice a small boy standing in front of them.
The boy is wearing a hoodie and a cap that is pulled down low over his face, and he has a basket in his hands full of carrots and some other groceries.
Taehyung glances at the boy's basket, puzzled. "What's with the kid? Why is he buying so many carrots?" he whispers to Jimin.
"I don't know, he must really like carrots," Jimin replies, chuckled.
Taehyung watches as the boy places the groceries on the countertop, and the cashier starts scanning them and bagging them up.
As the boy pulls out some money to pay for the groceries, one of his hoodies falls back just a little, revealing something that catches Taehyung's eye.
Taehyung's eyes widened as he catches a glimpse of something poking out from under the hoodie. It looked like it was...bunny ears? He couldn't tell for sure, but his curiosity is piqued.
Jimin notices Taehyung's suddenly attentive expression and pokes him in the side. "What are you looking at?" he asks, following Taehyung's gaze to the boy with the hoodie.
Taehyung shakes his head slightly, still not wanting to say anything to Jimin. He knows that Jimin has a tendency to gossip and spread information around. So he just shakes his head again and says, "It's nothing, just something I thought I saw on that kid's hoodie."
Jimin starts to ask for more details, but Taehyung cuts him off and motions for them to move up to the checkout counter. "Later. We'll talk about it later," Taehyung mutters under his breath, still eyeing the boy with the hoodie.
As they step up to the counter and the cashier starts ringing up their snacks, the boy with the hoodie finishes paying for his groceries and turns around to leave the store.
As Jimin pays for the snacks, Taehyung taps him on the shoulder and mutters, "I'll be back. I'm going to check something out."
Before Jimin can ask any questions, Taehyung quickly leaves the store, following the boy with the hoodie who just left.
Taehyung follows the hooded boy down the street, staying a few steps behind him.
The boy walks for a few blocks, his hood still pulled low over his face and his hands gripping on the handles of his grocery bags.
As Taehyung follows the boy, he watches as the boy suddenly tripped over something, causing his grocery bags to fall out of his hands. A few carrots spill out of the bag, rolling onto the ground.
Taehyung quickened his pace and approached the boy, who was crouched down on the ground trying to pick up the spilled groceries.
"Hey, you okay?" he asked, his eyes flicking over the boy's still-hooded figure.
Taehyung froze in shock as he saw the boy look up, revealing his face. It was the same boy he had tried to take last night - Jungkook. Their eyes met, and they both stood there for a moment in surprise.
Jungkook's eyes widened as well when he saw Taehyung, recognition sparking in his eyes.
Jungkook quickly grabbed the spilled carrots and scrambled to his feet, trying to make a dash for it. But Taehyung was quicker and he grabbed Jungkook by the arm, stopping him from escaping.
"Hey, wait a minute," Taehyung said, holding onto Jungkook's arm firmly but gently. "I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to talk. You're that boy from last night, aren't you?"
Jungkook froze in panic, his eyes wide with fear. He tried to pull his arm away from Taehyung's grasp, but Taehyung's grip was too strong. "Please,.. let ...me go!" he whispered, his voice trembling.
Taehyung tightened his grip on Jungkook's arm and leaned closer, his voice low. "I saw your tail last night, and your ears just now. You're a bunny hybrid, aren't you?"
Jungkook's eyes welled up with tears, and he trembled in fear. He managed to pull his arm free from Taehyung's grasp and took off running, leaving the dropped carrots behind.
Taehyung cursed under his breath as he watched Jungkook run away. "Shit," he muttered to himself.
He looked at the spilled carrots on the ground and then looked down the street where Jungkook had run off.
Taehyung smirked to himself as he picked up a few of the spilled carrots and headed back to the convenience store. He found Jimin waiting by the entrance, munching on a bag of chips.
