Knocking on the wood post frame of the animal hide yurt, Gabrielle's mother pushed the curtain aside.
When she saw me, she seemed angry.
"Gabrielle is still asleep. I'm sorry but, she can't be bothered."

"No! My daughter is not going to marry a human!" Her mother growls and goes on the offensive.

Pinning her, I growl back.
"Do not ever try to attack me. I bite harder than you do, dear, and I would rather see you remain unharmed."
She nods and I let her up.
When she stands, I ask her if she's hurt.
She shakes her head.

We enter and Gabrielle smiles.
"When I heard her yowl, I thought for certain that you'd hurt her.
