Role

"Uhm, class, quiet please," Clay called out, his voice cutting through the chatter.

"I would like to address you about our movie project in Philosophy," he continued, standing confidently in front of the class—our vice president, always taking charge.

I sighed inwardly. I know this is my job as president, but honestly, I can't be bothered to deal with this project right now. Kaya na nila yan. I leaned back in my chair, arms crossed.

"Any suggestions?" Clay asked, scanning the room.

Leisha stood up from her seat, leaning in to whisper something to Clay.

He nodded, his expression thoughtful as he listened, the gears turning in his head. "Magandang ideya nga yan!" he said after a beat. "What do you all think about having Gray and Arden as the main characters? Their dynamic could really drive the story."

Te'ka... ako? Ba't ako? I thought, feeling the weight of their gaze suddenly shift to me.

A murmur of agreement rippled through the class. They were all too eager to go along with Clay's suggestion, probably picturing how Arden and I would fit the roles.

"Nahhh," I immediately shot down the idea, my voice firm and certain.

"Kung gusto niyo, sina Rocco at Javier na lang," I recommended casually, shrugging as if it was no big deal.

"T-ngina, nangdamay pa ang g-go!" Javier shouted.

Clay raised an eyebrow, glancing back at me with a mix of surprise and determination. "But think about it! Gray and Arden have this amazing tension. Their banter could really highlight the enemy-to-lover trope we're aiming for."

Pinipilit pa talaga? I couldn't help but roll my eyes internally.

"Yeah!" Leisha chimed in, her voice brimming with excitement. "Imagine the witty comebacks and the underlying feelings that develop between them! It would be perfect for exploring those philosophical themes."

Bat naman kasi, sa dami-daming pwedeng maging daloy ng movie, naisipan pa nilang gawing BL? I thought, glancing at them with a mix of disbelief and confusion. Hindi naman sila mukha BL enjoyer.

My mind was already racing, trying to come up with an escape plan. I wasn't about to get dragged into this weird, romantic subplot, especially not with Arden of all people. The thought of it just felt... off.

I sighed, feeling the weight of the class's enthusiasm pressing down on me. "But Rocco and Javier would be a fresh twist! They have a different dynamic!"

Rocco immediately shot me a look, shaking his head. "Lagi lang kaming magkasama, but that doesn't mean we have a different dynamic," he said, his voice firm. "Besides, someone will get angry if we do that."

I turned around in shock to face Rocco. T-ngina! So meron nga?! Kaya hindi ko na siya nakikita this past few days?

Nagbibinata na si father.

"Who's going to get angry, huh?" I asked, half-joking, half-curious.

Rocco just shrugged, his eyes darting toward Javier, who was sitting quietly at the back, looking more amused than concerned.

"Sige na!" one of my classmates urged, leaning forward in their seat, practically pleading for me to agree.

"Rocco and Javier are great, but Gray and Arden have that established rivalry! It's classic!"

Clay nodded vigorously, as if he'd already won the argument. "We can really play with the idea of them starting off as enemies. Pwede silang magtaltalan tungkol sa kanilang magkakaibang pananaw sa pag-ibig at buhay, ngunit kalaunan ay nakahanap sila ng karaniwang batayan." He grinned, clearly imagining the drama unfolding. "It's the perfect setup for some major character growth!"
