As the nurse left them, the members turned back to each other, the weight of what had just happened pressing down on them again.
"I can't believe this is happening," Wonwoo said quietly, his voice barely audible. "Seungkwan... I thought he was just getting a cold. I never imagined it could get this bad."
"He's strong," Hoshi said softly, his eyes focused on the door the nurse had just walked through. "He's going to fight through this, just like he always does."
They all nodded, trying to reassure themselves. But deep down, they knew the road ahead wasn't going to be easy. Seungkwan had fought to stay strong for them, and now, it was their turn to stay strong for him.
They spent the next few hours in quiet conversation, each member quietly reflecting on how their own actions had contributed to this moment. Despite their fears, they knew that Seungkwan needed them now more than ever, and they would do whatever it took to make sure he recovered.
The night stretched on, and each of them took turns going to see Seungkwan, each visit filled with whispers of encouragement and soft reassurances. The fear of the unknown still weighed on them, but they knew that as long as they were together, they could face whatever came next.
And they all silently hoped that Seungkwan would be okay-that his fight was just beginning.
The hours stretched on, the tension in the hospital waiting room never quite letting up. The members were exhausted, emotionally drained from the events of the night, but there was a quiet understanding among them. They needed to be strong for Seungkwan, and they needed to be there for him. But, as the night wore on, the younger members-still physically drained from their busy day-started to show signs of weariness.
"I think we should let the maknae line go home and get some rest," Jeonghan said softly, looking around at the group. "They've been through a lot today, too. We'll take turns watching over Seungkwan tonight, so we can keep him company until he's better."
Hoshi, who had been pacing the room, stopped and glanced at the other members. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. We'll stay here with him. You guys go home, get some sleep, and come back in the morning. Seungkwan's in good hands with us."
The youngest members, who had been trying to stay strong for Seungkwan, exchanged weary glances. They were clearly drained, emotionally and physically, and the weight of the night had started to take its toll on them. But none of them wanted to leave Seungkwan, not when he still looked so fragile in that hospital bed, hooked up to machines with his breathing still labored despite the oxygen.
"Are you sure?" DK asked, his voice tight with concern. He hadn't left Seungkwan's side since they'd arrived, and the thought of leaving his friend behind felt unsettling. "We can stay, too. We don't want to leave him alone."
"It's only for a few hours," Joshua said gently, putting a reassuring hand on DK's shoulder. "We're all here, and we'll keep him safe. We'll keep him company until you guys come back in the morning. He'll need all of us, but you all need rest too."
Woozi nodded in agreement, his tired eyes meeting the others'. "We can't help him if we're running on empty. Go home, rest, and we'll take it from here."
Seungkwan's condition was still fragile, but the doctors had stabilized him for the moment, and they had been monitoring him closely. The oxygen had helped him breathe more easily, and his vitals were starting to look better, though he was still unconscious, his face pale but peaceful. It was clear that he wasn't out of the woods yet, but they knew it was a step in the right direction.
"Alright," DK said quietly, finally accepting that they needed rest, too. His voice was soft, almost reluctant. "We'll go home. But we'll be back first thing in the morning, okay?"
