Chapter three
Alexander

I walked to my classroom. I can't believe Carmelita said that. Was she actually proud of me? Or just saying that to make me feel better?

I blush, but cover it with my hands.

I can't believe I told her about my mom. My only comfort person. She died when I turned 6. I never celebrated my birthday after that day. Even my father doesn't greet me. You might think he might just be busy. But he does a lot of illegal stuff and sometimes hit me.

But now, I'm not that close to him. I have my own apartment. And I'm responsible by myself. I listen to my classes, but sometimes, it's so hard to focus. These voices in my head keep interfering.

I can't do anything without those voices badly talking to me.

It's hard and ..... My vision starts to get blurry, and it gets hard to breathe. My chest hurt. I check my pulse. Why is it so slow?...

I breathed in and breathed out.

Didn't help.

I started panicking, and I'm losing air.

I start to get dizzy...

I fainted.

Thump.

I feel like the atompshere changed. It's colder, no noise. Where am I? How long have I fainted?

Is this the nurse's room?

"Alexander?.." A sweet tune. It sounds familiar. "Carmelita..?" I say, my voice seems deep but sounds like a whisper.. "How long have I been sleeping?", "Just 35 minutes. "Are you okay? Why did you fainted?" She said, full of worry.

I chuckle.

"What are you doing here?" I ask. "I'm your only friend, that's why." "Rude." We chuckle. She pats my head and plays with my hair. "Hey, no touching. Only looking." She chuckled and touched my forehead. "You seem a bit hot.", "Oh I've always been hot." She gently slapped my arm. "Is this Alexander when he's sick?" I chuckle. My heart starts to beat faster. I'm not feeling anything. It just did. I inhale and exhale. I'm trying to keep myself stable. "Hey.. You might be feeling under the weather. You should rest." She said.

I did have some light headaches lately, and I keep getting dizzy whenever playing basketball... Is basketball the problem?....

"You can go home now if you feel better." I turn to Carmelita, "You should go home.." I said with concern. "I'm meeting my aunts today. They won't worry. And beside i'm independent on my own!" She chuckled.

"By the way, Alexander, the finals are coming. You should take the rest so you'll feel fine at the finals..."

I forgot.... The finals. I don't want to let anyone down....

Not anymore.
