I enter my room with a bag of chips and freshly baked popcorn. A marathon of the series awaits. I lie down in bed next to the computer, where the series is ready. I groan when my phone starts vibrating on the table. If it's important, I'll write as much as I can. Now I need to relax.

I pressed a button on my computer and the first seconds of the series appeared on the screen. The phone vibrated a few more times, but I didn't pay much attention to it.

Not even ten minutes into the series, the phone started working again. I paused the series and got out of bed. I drag my feet to the table and take the phone from it.

The phone almost fell out of my hands when I saw a familiar and long-lost name. Reichelle.

Reichelle was my good friend, but not my best. When we found out that we were going to break up, we just broke up amicably. We wished each other to find other best friends and not be sad about what happened.  We promised each other that we would text occasionally, but I didn't expect her to still want to communicate with me.

I entered the unlock code on my phone and went to Messenger to read her message.

-Yeah ... I think you found friends and I understand you perfectly.

But you could write back :) Unless I'm really nothing to you now and I've always been like that to you.

What the hell?

-Hey. I don't understand what you're talking about? I was just watching the series.

My heart beats a little faster because I feel a little bad. Reich looks at the message and writes back to me at the same time.

-You've also learned to lie ... -You watched the series for two days?

-Reich? Are you really writing to whom you want to write? "

-Oh, so now you're pretending not to know me?"

It hurts. It hurts a lot when the friend you've spent half your life with is angry about nothing. I press the green button and there's a beep. Reich, answer.

-What? -she asks me roughly.

-I don't understand what happened. Why are you mad at me for nothing?

-For nothing? You were my best friend and I missed you so much. You just looked at my message and didn't reply.

-I replied! I said I was watching the series.

-Two days?

-What two days? -I frown.

-Look at the messenger when I wrote you a message.

I take the phone from my ear and go to the messenger. I check and yes... her first message was ten minutes ago, not two days ago. I copy the screen and send her a photo.

-Look, Reich. Ten minutes ago, -I look out the window.

-Yes... You deleted the message and now you're going to blame me?

-What message, Reich?!  -soon emotions begin to surge and eyes fill with tears.

-I wrote you the longest message. Maybe your new friends don't want you to remember your old ones?

No one had my phone and no one knows my phone code.

-Reich, it's really none of my business, but I'll find out soon.

I end the conversation and throw the phone on the bed and run out of the room.

-Mom!

I shout loudly and run down the stairs.

-She's in the garden! -Ian answers for Mom.

Kicking my feet into my sneakers, I go out into the courtyard. Mom is working on her garden here.

-You went into my computer? -I crossed my arms over my chest.

-What are you saying, honey? -she turns to me suddenly.

-How dare you delete messages meant for me and how dare you go into my computer?!

I scream loudly. Mom stutters and throws the rake on the ground.

-Darling, I didn't want you to be sad.

-Oh, of course. You always think about yourself, but can you even think about me once?! About your daughter!? Congratulations. You've achieved what you wanted. Now Reich and Jackson will never write to me, because they think I've changed. I've become a spoiled slut who forgot about my friends who were with me since childhood. You do everything just so that you feel good ...

-I'm not doing it, Grace! You can't talk to me like that. If I didn't care about you, would you go to a good school? Would I give you everything you want?...

-Everything I want? -I laugh. - Then why am I here, Mom? You fulfill your desires, and I have to pretend that everything is fine with me. I don't like it! I don't like your Ian, because I'll always see Dad next to you! I don't like this house, because everyone thinks I'm spoiled!  I don't like that "best" school!

-You know what, Grace?! You're tired of your whims. Go where you want and live! Go! You're an adult, you can do whatever you want. That's not how your father and I raised you! You won't ruin my life.

My cheeks don't have time to dry from the tears of sadness. I never expected such words from my mother. I turn my head towards the neighbors and Niall sees this circus. I groan and turn around, rushing quickly to my room. I lock the door and slide it to the ground, hugging my legs. There is a soft knock on the door.

-Grace, can we talk? -Ian.

-No. Leave me alone, -I sniffle.

I hear footsteps receding and get up from the ground. I wipe my cheeks and take my phone from the bed, text Briana:

-7pm. Let's go to Niall's party :) Tell the others.
