Yes, most people's favorite thing about gymnastics is bars because they like to swing on them, but newsflash you need to be able to do more than swing to progress in level and skill.
So the first tip I'm going to share with you is how to calm your nerves. Yeah I know most people don't need to, so this one is mainly directed for new gymnasts and the scared gymnasts. Ok so the fist way to calm your nerves is to see someone else do it first, so try your hardest to go last because the more you see do it and not get hurt, the calmer you'll be, I promise. While your watching, listen to what the coach is saying and watch what the other people are doing, so while your at the back of the line you can practice the motions and try to visualize yourself doing the skill. This will help you be more prepared to do it and less scared.
The second tip is directed to the gymnasts who are experienced and don't want to let their coach down. For this one you would want to breath while your preparing to do your routine and visualize yourself doing it flawlessly. Clear your mind of everything else and just focus. This will guarantee relief, and a great routine.
