"P' Gemini, can I leave?" His husband had whispered an hour and a couple surpassing minutes after their arrival.
Gemini whipped his head to the side, met with a pair of big eyes stuck on him like a plea. The exchange happened when people were finally off his back now, leaving the couple to their own privacy for a bit.
He expected to hear this request before they even left the house tonight. Fourth wasn't a social man, and he discovered that about his husband the day they got engaged. An entire night consisting of just greeting people, being greeted by people and forcing a smile out of their conversations would've definitely sent the younger on the edge anyway.
A wine glass lay elegantly wrapped around his fingers as he occasionally stirred the contents inside with a blank stare adorning his eyes. Gemini resisted the urge to ask him multiple times if everything was alright but alas, his own mouth felt sealed.
Which was a bit unfortunate since Fourth was his husband. Fourth is his husband. And yet they struggle to vocalize or even stick to a mere eye contact.
Can I leave? This is probably the first sentence Fourth has directed at him today without the help of another colleague of his sparking a conversation. Gemini couldn't reject the simple request at all.
So he agreed to take Fourth home two hours earlier before the program even ended. Bidding goodbye to the rest of his colleagues at the office party while his husband waited outside with his arms crossed, looking distracted.
They're in his car now, indulged in a silence that piled lumps in his throat.
Unable to help it, the elder takes a short peek at his silent husband.
Fourth was staring out the window with a lack of emotion presented on his face. He fought a bit in his head before eventually choosing to break the silence,
"Everything okay, N' Fourth?" He mustered up the softest tone for it.
As much as he wanted to witness Fourth's reaction to that, he had his eyes glued to the road in front of them. Although judging by the shuffling next to him, it was safe to say the younger was surprised.
Fourth presses his lips into a thin line upon hearing the warm voice. He adjusted in the passenger seat, body retreating from its original side turn.
He shortly nods. "Yeah. I'm sorry about that. I was feeling dizzy."
A concerned frown. "Maybe you drank too much. Take some medicine when we're back home." He suggests calmly.
Back home. The apartment they're now obligated to share. Well, it's not really a forced situation between the two, but still, Gemini knows neither of them have yet to adjust to their present habitat.
"You should've stayed. I didn't mean to cause trouble for you."
"Don't worry about that," Gemini responds as he was serving on a turn. "I see them everyday at work anyway" He tried to reassure the younger.
