After six, the party is in full swing at Niall’s house. But I’m not there yet. I watch his house through my bedroom window. It’s getting fuller and the music is loud even in my house. If the neighbors (that’s my mom) don’t call the police, I think I’m in for a great night.
I grab a white leather dress from the bed and go to the bathroom to change. My makeup and hair are done. When I get back to my room, I grab my black high heels.
I get a message that everyone has gathered at my house. I turn off the light in the room. I quietly go downstairs and look at the living room door. It’s closed. I carefully cross over and quietly open the door to the house. I go out into the yard and shiver from the cold. Closing the door behind me, I put on my high heels and run to my friends.
David whistles, and I bow. Olivia and Briana compliment my outfit and compliment my curls. I shake their hands and we all enter Niall’s house. Everyone’s attention turns to us.
-The star has arrived, -Liam sings, taking Briana and Oli’s jackets. He’s gone soon.
-We need drinks, -I say louder.
-What happened, Grace? You said you were tired of parties, -Briana smiles and we follow Olivia. She leads us to alcohol paradise. The living room.
A huge table is piled with all kinds of alcohol. We each made ourselves different cocktails and, breaking yellow cups, we shook or snorted. As expected, Liam and Briana went dancing together, and Olivia went to look for the attention of the guys.
-The second time we're left alone, -David closes his eyes and we laugh.
Looking around the living room, I'm surprised to see someone I wouldn't have even thought of.
-Excuse me for a minute, -I smile at David, and he nods understandingly.
I push my way through the groups of guys and receive their lewd compliments. I touch the girl's shoulder, and she turns to me.
-Yes, right? -I smile at her.
-Yes...Thank you so much for what you did for me, -she looks around awkwardly and at her friends -Here...the girl who saved me from Elliot.
-I'm Grace, by the way. Does he come to you often? -I ask and wave to the two girls.
-It's because of my appearance, -she mumbles -and yes. About five times a month.
-He's a piece of shit. He makes fun of almost all the girls, -the blonde sighs -Perrie.
-Leigh, -the other one introduces herself as well.
-Nice, -we all smile -We have to learn to ignore people like him.
-We don't know what he can do, but he can do anything, -the blonde -Thank you so much for helping Jesy.
-He wouldn't have done that. There are a lot of people at school and I don't think he's that crazy, girls. If there's any problem, tell me.
-They nod.
-It's weird talking to you, -Jesy admits.
-Why? Ah...do I look like the second star of the school? -I roll my eyes and giggle -I'm not like that. I choose my friends wisely, I poke my finger at my temple.
-I think He's waiting to talk to you, -the blonde looks over my shoulder.
I turn my head and there's the culprit of the party. He winks at me, and I turn to the girls.
-Yeah ... we need to talk. It was nice to meet and chat, -I fix my curls and after saying goodbye to the girls, I go to Niall's.
I stand next to him and we finish our drinks. I raise my eyebrows when I see David with a few girls. Ah ... I'm left alone.
-You're not the only one with noisy neighbors, huh? -he looks at me.
-Trouble. I hope you didn't tell anyone?
-I can if I have to, -he shrugs, and I slowly shake my head.
-Unless you want everyone to know how sad Niall Horan really is, -I cry.
-Are you blackmailing me, Grace Combs?
-Maybe, -I nod.
He shakes his head and laughs. I take a sip of my cocktail, and then I notice Liam. He’s talking to David. Where’s Briana?
-What were you talking about with those girls?” -Niall distracts me.
-About your boyfriend’s mental health issues, -I say.
-I’m surprised Jesy’s here.
-Why wouldn’t she be here if Niall Horan invited her?
I literally gasp and follow Liam out of the living room with my eyes.
-Wow. It’s like: my friend is going to rape you, but as an apology gift, I’m going to invite you to my party.
-He wouldn’t have even raped her, -he grits his teeth.
-No, he would have just undressed her and…
-He wouldn’t have, because she’s my cousin.
-I roll my eyes and open my mouth wide.
-Are you fucking kidding me?
-Are they building the place?
-You're fucking kidding. You're letting your cousin be insulted? What's wrong with you?
-I'm sorry princess, but I'm imperfect, -he frowns and clenches his fists tightly.
He makes me so nauseous that my body demands even more alcohol. I empty my cup and quickly push my way through the people to the table. I smile at Jace and he holds out his cup to me, but I show him mine.
-Did Olivia come with you? -he scratches his chin.
-I think she's looking for you, -I make another cocktail, only this time with more alcohol.
-Don't be boring, -he laughs and leaves me.
I decide to go to the courtyard. I hope my mother doesn't notice me in the crowd of thousands. She thinks I'm sleeping at Briana's. When I stepped outside, the fresh air invigorated me, so I quickly drank a cocktail. There were more people outside than inside the house.
-Princess.
I shook myself when his voice made me nauseous.
-What's wrong with you "princess"? Less movies, guys, -I look at Elliot and step back, because what the hell. He's drunk.
-Are you afraid of me? -he laughs.
-Everyone's afraid of psychopaths.
His smile disappears, so shit. I gasp as he pushes me against the wall of the house and my cocktail falls to the grass.
-Don't touch me, -I grit my teeth, and he laughs and presses even harder -I'm completely serious. Let me go.
-And what are you going to do to me, huh? -his hands press my shoulders too hard against the wall.
-She might be okay, but I can't promise you'll stay untouched.
I suddenly cover my mouth with my hand when Niall roughly pushes Elliot away from me and he falls to the ground. I look at Niall, and he looks at me. What's going to happen now?
