Taylor found herself downstairs alone drinking tea at about 3:30, upset about her lack of sleep but also about the horrible nightmares that surrounded her. Always relating to harper dying. She had such bad sleep anxiety as it is and she just couldn't bring herself to wake Travis up again. She knew that deep down he was exhausted from being up with her all night the previous night.
Travis woke up noticing that Taylor wasn't there. He carefully got up heading downstairs figuring she was most likely there.
He smiled a little bit when he saw her carefully putting his arm around her. "Hey why didn't you wake me?" Travis whispered, pulling her closer. Taylor turned into him, cuddling close.
"You need sleep. And I felt like drinking tea alone in my underwear while Benjamin tried to drink out of the cup." Taylor whispered, chuckling to herself at the last part.
Travis laughed a little bit still holding her close. "Please come back with me. We can cuddle up in the bed," Travis told her. She slowly nodded and picked up her tea, following him upstairs. She got into bed and finished her drink before laying down.
"Um.. ca-can we sleep with the light on... please." Taylor stuttered. Travis nodded, smiling again and looking down at her. "Of course we can," Travis replied. She gave him a small smile and lay down, closing her eyes and trying to push all of the worry from her thoughts.
Travis just layed down and closed his eyes as well slowly drifting off to sleep. Taylor continued to toss and turn, unable to get herself to sleep and just decided to lay awake looking at Travis.
By the time the morning came she still had not been able to bring herself to sleep. Taylor just huffed and got up and woke Evie up for school.
Evie quickly got ready before heading back downstairs pulling out her sketchbook to work on some designs while she waited to leave. Taylor stood at the counter making Evie's breakfast and struggling to keep herself awake. "Here you go hun." She said as she placed Evie's breakfast down at the table, sitting down opposite her with some extra strong coffee.
Evie just carefully placed her sketchbook down and looked over giving her a little smile. "Thank you but my stomach is a little bit uneasy this morning. Would you want it instead," Evie replied.
"Nope. It's all yours. And you know the rules, you eat it." Taylor told her. She didn't have the energy for the battle of food with Evie due to her lack of sleep.
Evie slowly nodded seeing that Taylor was still feeling drained. She just took a few bites and pushed the rest of it to one side hoping it would look like she ate more. Taylor sighed in frustration and just took it away before heading to the car to take Evie.
Evie just quickly grabbed her sketchbook and her backpack before following after her to the car. Taylor drove Evie to school in silence, trying extra hard to focus on driving. When she pulled up and smiled and told her to have a good day before rushing back home and upstairs where she took off her clothes and climbed into bed.
Travis smiled seeing she was back. "You know I could have taken her again," Travis whispered, putting his arm around her once more. Taylor shrugged and cuddled into him. "I was up anyway, I didn't sleep." She admitted.
"Do you want to sleep downstairs again?" He asked her. Taylor slowly nodded and got up. "I don't have to put clothes on though, right? Just a blanket?" She asked.
Travis smiled and nodded again. "Of course. Whatever you feel comfortable in," Travis told her. She nodded and headed downstairs, bringing down both baby monitors for the girls to see when they woke up and cuddling into Travis on the sofa. Her room just reminded her more and more of the nightmares.
