Knock. Knock.

No response.

Ring. Ring.

Still, nothing.

For the past fifteen minutes, Wahid had been alternately knocking on the door and calling his boss without any success. Neither the door opened, nor were his calls answered. It wasn't like Trayaksh Dev Khatri to ignore him—especially not when there were responsibilities to tend to. His worry grew with every passing second.

The events from earlier left him uneasy.

The way his lady boss had left earlier still played on his mind. She'd left alone. Alone. That word lingered heavily in Wahid's thoughts. What had happened between her and Trayaksh for him to let her leave the city without him? It wasn't like his boss to let her go unaccompanied.

Wahid wanted to follow her—his instincts screaming at him—but he couldn't act without direct orders. Thankfully, a team of security had gone along with her to ensure her safe arrival. But now, here he was, waiting outside the guestroom in the Bajaj mansion, debating whether he should step inside.

He raised his hand again.

Knock. Knock.

No answer.

This time, he tried the doorknob.

Click.

Relief coursed through him as the door creaked open. He stepped inside cautiously, his eyes scanning the dimly, lit living area. It was empty, eerily so. His gaze landed on the bedroom door.

"Boss?" Wahid called out, but no response came.

He walked to the bedroom and knocked again. When there was still no answer, he turned the knob.

Click.

The door swung open.

He stiffened.

There, in the center of the bed, was his boss, lying on the bed—half-naked, his dark hair disheveled, and his wrists chained to the headboard.

What the actual hell?

The calm, ever-disciplined Wahid was now completely thrown off. His mind scrambled to make sense of what was happening in front of him. This wasn't something he had expected. He'd known his boss to be a man of many facets, but this? This was something else entirely.
