______________________________________Samar's pov:
I frowned, confused by Bhabhi's words.
"What are you hearing, Bhabhi?" I asked, but before she could respond, I heard another voice in the background.
A crying voice.
"Biwi, here, take her. She's crying. I need to go to a meeting now; handle her," I heard Dev bhai's voice.
It didn't take me long to figure out that he was probably handing a crying Ishanya to Bhabhi.
"Kya, Dev? Abhi to thodi der pehle bade confidence mein bol rahe the aap, 'Main dono bachchon ko sambhal sakta hoon.' Aur ab jara si hi der mein saara confidence khatam ho gaya!" Bhabhi teased him in her usual playful tone.
(What, Dev? Just a little while ago, you were confidently saying, 'I can manage both the kids.' And now, all that confidence is gone in no time)
Hearing that, I couldn't stop myself from chuckling on the call.
The way both of them always teased each other; their constant banter; it was always entertaining to witness.
Whether in person or over the phone, their playful arguments could lighten anyone's mood.
"Biwi, mujhe meeting mein jaana hai."
"Otherwise, main dono bachchon ko sambhaal hi leta hoon," I heard Dev bhai's oh-so-confident reply in the background.
(Biwi, I need to go to a meeting. Otherwise, I would've easily managed both the kids)
I tried to stop myself from laughing at his response.
Yeah, sure, Dev bhai. Managing two little ones is a cakewalk, right?
And Bhabhi wasn't having it either.
"Haan haan sab samjhti hoon me, meeting ke naam pe bhaagna hai. Baaki sab excuses hain," she shot back.
(Yeah, yeah, I know. You just want to run away in the name of a meeting. Everything else is just an excuse)
I could hear the sarcasm dripping through the phone in her voice.
"Yaar Biwi, yeh chhoti do minute ke liye chup bhi nahi hoti hai, me kya karu ab."
"Kitna chhota insaan hai yeh, phir bhi itna bada hungama kar deti hai!" Dev bhai exclaimed.
(Biwi, this little one doesn't stay quiet even for two minutes. Such a tiny human, and yet she creates such a big fuss)
I couldn't help but imagining the scene, Dev bhai pacing back and forth, holding Ishanya like she was a ticking time bomb.
And let's be honest; she kind of was.
Dev bhai wasn't done yet so he continued, "Aur vo dekho us Samay ko, dekho kaise ghoor ghoor ke dekh raha hai mujhe," he added.
(And look at Samay, look how he's glaring at me)
Now, I couldn't help but burst out laughing.
I mean, what did he expect? Samay was probably plotting his next big move, like a tiny mastermind in a onesie.
"Haaan, to dekhega hi na, aap uski mumma se argument jo kar rahe ho," Bhabhi replied, her voice teasing.
"Aur uski chhoti behen ko bol rahe ho ki vo hungama karti hai."
"Very bad Dev, not a good thing to say."
(Yeah, of course he's going to glare at you, you're arguing with his mom. And you're telling his little sister that she creates a ruckus)
