It began with a whisper, a shadow’s call, in the quiet of youth, where dreams enthrall,
You stepped into my life, a fleeting star, a light so near, yet forever far.

Your voice was a hymn, soft and divine, each word a prayer my soul called mine,
I watched from afar, a timid flame. Afraid to burn, yet drawn all the same.

In your smile, I found the sun’s warm embrace, but in your gaze, a distant place, a land I longed for,
But could not thread, where love was alive, but my lay dead.

I traced your name in the folds of night, an aching muse in the dim starlight,
Every thought of you, a sacred pain.

A haunting refrain I could not explain.
I dreamed of paths where our fates entwined, of words exchange, of hearts aligned,
Yet silence held me, a coward’s chain, and the love I bore was all in vain.

You never knew how I lingered near, how I love my world to keep you here,
A shadow behind, a ghost unseen.
A yearning caught in the in-between.

Years have passed, and the echoes fade, but your image lingers, a memory made,
A love unspoken, a wound unhealed, a truth the heart could never reveal.

Perhaps in another life, another chance, we’ll meet again in a cosmic dance,
But for this life, it was never meant to be, my first love – a fleeting eternity.
