Jin was getting ready to leave for the health complex in his duty. There was an emergency patient today. Jimin stood silently at the threshold of his mother's room, observing her. He didn't utter a word. Jin glanced at him briefly and, in a somewhat stern voice, said,

"Take the diary."

Jimin quickly walked over to the bed and picked up the diary. He was overwhelmed with embarrassment. How much had his eomma read? Had he read it all? What was he thinking? If he'd read the entire thing, how could he ever face Jin again? The diary held countless forbidden emotions, feelings, and confessions written in black ink on its pristine white pages-all for Yoongi.

Jin had already seemed upset about his relationship with Yoongi. Jimin never thought his eomma would react negatively to learning about it. He had expected him to be happy and supportive.

Last night, while Jimin was pouring his heart into the diary, Jin had silently entered his room, taken the diary from him, and read several pages. After a brief interrogation, he'd asked if Yoongi felt the same way. Jimin had nervously confirmed, "Yes." Jin had sighed deeply, taken the diary and Jimin's phone, and said, "You're not to contact Yoongi until I say so." And with that, he'd left.

Since then, Jimin had been a nervous wreck, anxiously waiting for a chance to talk to Yoongi. Now, holding the diary, he awkwardly asked,

"Did you read the whole thing, Mom?"

"Would you be happy if I did? I'm not about to get emotional reading my son's diary at my age." Jin replied bluntly.

Jimin's face flushed with embarrassment. He realized how foolish his question had been. As he turned to leave with the diary, he hesitated and said boldly, "Yoongi hyung is a good person, Mom."

"I know Yoongi is a good person. There's no doubt about that." Jin replied calmly. "But your uncle still hasn't accepted my Taehyung and Kookie's marriage. Do you really think he'll approve of yours? He won't. Focus on your studies instead of this."

Jimin rarely ever talked back to his mother, but today he found himself saying, "But you didn't stop Tae hyung when he told about Kookie, Mom."

Jin felt a pang of frustration at Jimin's words. How could he explain the complexities of their situation? Everything in their life was already far from normal. Jin had spent the better part of last night worrying about Jimin. At first, he had tried to convince himself that what was written in the diary was just fleeting emotions. But the words on those pages told a different story-this was love, not a passing feeling. Jin was particularly troubled by Jimin's youth and the one-sided nature of his feelings.

And then there was Hoseok. Jin worried about his reaction most. If Jimin were to step into that house as Yoongi's spouse, would he be mistreated? Jin couldn't bear the thought. He had tried to act in Jimin's best interests by being firm, yet he found no peace. He even consulted Taehyung, who told him to wait for the right time. But what did that even mean?

With a heavy heart, Jin placed a comforting hand on Jimin's head and said, "I'm not trying to stop you. But your uncle has always kept his distance from us. He didn't let you into his house as his nephew, so why would he accept you as his son's life partner? If he agrees, I won't object. I'll talk to Yoongi myself, but I doubt he'll be able to convince his father about you."

"He will, Mom." Jimin said with quiet confidence. "Trust Yoongi hyung. I love him very much. I might be young, but I'm not that young. And even if uncle doesn't agree now, he will someday. I'll wait for as long as it takes."

Jin remembered Yoongi's past with Suzy. He had noticed how unsettled Yoongi became when Suzy's love letters were exposed, causing a family uproar. That's when Jin realized Yoongi had been in love with Suzy but couldn't marry her because of his father. Would the same thing happen with Jimin? Would Yoongi back away for his father's sake, leaving Jimin heartbroken?
