I just lay there after Taylor had left, not really knowing what to do. I got rid of the condom and cleaned up, but then I just lay there.
I'd never been the type for one night stands or having sex without love, but then again this situation had been fucked up from the start. Taylor and I had gotten married before we'd even had our first kiss, and it wasn't like any of this was real. She'd just been so close, and she was so incredibly attractive, and she'd been incredible. But now I just felt confused.
Was this how things were going to be with us? Married strangers at home except for the occasional fuck, and then doting husband and wife as soon as we left the front door? I had always been the one who dreamed of traditional love, of soft first kisses and love letters and romantic dates and showing up with flowers. But now look where I was.
I didn't entirely regret having sex with Taylor though. She had been the best person I'd ever been with and I wouldn't say no to anything with her again. I had to admit she was incredible.
The ring of my phone caught my attention after a while and I sighed, rolling over to pick it up. I knew immediately the reason for a call when I saw my brother's name on the screen, and I also knew I had to pick up.
"Hey." I mumbled.
"Travis fucking Kelce, tell me it isn't true." Jason said in a cool, calm voice that I knew he was trying not to let snap.
"What?" I sighed.
"You marrying that fucking Swift woman!" He exclaimed. "It's all over Travis, don't tell me you fucking married that bitch! Do you know what she does?"
"I know what she does." I mumbled.
"So it's true."
"Yeah." I said slowly. I had a part to play. "Jason I know our families have a history and I never wanted any part of the mafia which is why I distanced myself from you guys, but I just fell in love with her."
"You fell in love with the city's most ruthless mafia leader when you knew how not okay it was?"
"Well I'm sorry if the family has problem with her but I can't help who I fall in love with Jason." I sighed, rubbing my eyes. "I'm not going to apologize for that. I love her and I married her. Any further questions?"
There was a long pause.
"Can you get us any inside information?"
"What?" I couldn't help but laugh. "Did you seriously just ask me to steal information from my wife for you?"
"Yes?"
"Fuck off Jason." I pulled my phone away from my ear and hung up, putting it down. Jesus Christ. I couldn't believe he'd ask me for something like that. To the world I was hopelessly in love with Taylor, and there was no way I could give out any information even if I wanted to help my family.
Should I tell Taylor about that?
I thought I probably should, so I sighed to myself and got up. Pulling on some sweatpants, I left my room and went down to Taylor's room. I knew I wasn't allowed to go in so I just knocked.
"What?" Taylor asked as she opened the door, her hair all tangled and her shirt crumpled. Maybe I'd woken her up.
"I got a call from my brother." I told her. "He wanted information on you."
"Did you tell him anything?" Suddenly Taylor had a small dagger in her hand, and I blinked in surprise. Where the hell had she got that from? "Because I'd hate to kill my husband on our wedding night."
"I didn't." I quickly said. "I told him to fuck off and that I loved you."
"Good." Taylor lowered the dagger. "Thanks for telling me."
