Silence. All there was throughout the empty home or looked like it if someone walked by. A man laying on the kitchen floor groaned in pain after getting hit from behind. His body gave all their strength to stand up opening his eyes looking for something or someone. "Where is she?" He said in a gruff voice. Walking slowly to the living room to grab a fire poker from the fireplace with the end red hot from being the flames for too long. "Jade." He sang eeriely. "Come out. Daddy wants to talk to you." Said the man. He looked into each room starting in the garage dragging the fire poker along the wall not caring about the damages he was causing. Back in the closet with her body curled tightly in a ball covering her mouth with tears forming in fear and in pain. Jade hated this man so putting through the crap he gave he not even her mother can do any help. All because of who she is to them. A monster. A freak that should be locked up. She didnt deserve any of this even with the 24/7 beatings but only this time she fought back. Its felt good but stupid. Now here she is with a bust nose and the worst black eye imaginable. That wasnt the only she was feeling with her dislocated wrist and fractured ribs. All because her power was getting better when she practice in secret. Shes been doing it for five years when the signs showed and got better at it. 'Free to roam. Take me to where i call home.' She muttered under breath repeating it many times trying not to give herself away. Her mind was focus on her chant as the crashes were getting closer and closer. The closet door swung wide open with the man breathing heavily in front of her. "Not a peep or a sound. Time to put you both in a permanent sleep." Said Jade phasing through the wall with her bag held tight between her legs amd her chest. The man suddenly dropped dead to the ground followed by a car horn and crash inside the garage. "Hello? Anyone in there?" Said voice. A kid walked in through the busted garage door walking towards the car with the horn still blaring. He opened the door to see the blonde woman asleep on the wheel. "Victor!" Said a mans voice. The man ran inside towards his son moving him away from the car. "I got her. Go find anyone else inside." Said the man. Victor walked in smelling something burning following where it was coming from to fid the man asleep on the floor with the fire poker burning through his shirt and to his skin. He looked scared as the pain is supposed to wake him and ran to his dad who was on the phone.
It was night time as Jade emerged from the ground gasping for air and looked around to where she was. She got up slowly from her injured leg thanks to her mother seeing that she was at the back of someone's house. Jade limped out of the property making sure her book was hidden on the way to the sidewalk. She went down in front of the house looking at her surrounding seeing it looked more different then her old home. Rustling of the bushes made her turn thinking it be a stray or something. Jade kept on moving when she saw her reflection seeing the bruised and swelling on her face with a bit of blood pouring out slowly. "Lend me strength that i may gain. Heal away the most pain." Said Jade repeating it. She didnt care how her body was suffering from the power she used to escape like her body wanted desperately to rest. Jade kept on going when the door from the house behind her opened. "Are lost honey? Oh my god. Benny get the first aide now!" Said the woman not taking her eyes off Jade. She stepped of the house seeing Jade looking unsteady collapsing on floor. "Call ambulance!" Said the woman running to her. "Mom? Oh dude." Said Benny seeing Jade. He ran out with the old woman behind him holding the first aide kit. The woman brushed jades half red amd black hair away from her face as Benny looked away not wanting to throw up. She and the old woman help clean up the blood off her face carefully. "Who did this to her?" Said the woman. "Go grab the peroxide. I'll watch her." Said the old woman. The woman left with Benny standing by not seeing teh old woman look through her bag for anything. She then saw the lights of the ambulance holding the bag in her hands once they pulled over to talk to everyone. They all talked as the medics checked on Jade before taking her to the hospital with the woman getting a lift. Benny and the woman who was his grandmother stayed going inside trying to relax about what happened. Bennys grandmother was calm putting something away somewhere in the house while Benny was calling his friend. "Dude! My mom found a girl in the street." Said Benny. "She looked to be beaten up. Like seriously bad. My mom saw her outside passing the house and she went to talk her. She passed out. I dont what happened but minus the bruising and swelling. She looked hot. What? She is. Uh the ambulance and my mom left with her. Okay. I'll call you back for an update." Said Benny hanging up.
Its been sometime when Jade woke up breathing heavily like she had a nightmare looking around. She then flinched feeling someone touch her to find the woman from before calming her down. "Youre okay. No one isnt going to hurt you. Can you tell me your name?" Said the woman. "Jade." Said Jade looking around. "Could explain to us what happened?" Said the woman. "Its doesnt matter." Said Jade looking away. She then heard the doctor coming in holding her chart skimming it through before looking at her. "How are you doing?" Said the doctor. Jade didnt say anything but shrugged then moved her hand when the woman touched her. "Do you have anyone?" He asked when the woman stood up leading him out to talk. Jade made they were gone she looked out the window seeing it was almost sunrise. "Lend me the strength i must gain. Take away the pain and what remains." she whispered closing her eyes. The door open with the woman and the doctor to find the bed empty with the window opened. "Get me security. We got a escapee." Said the doctor. Back outside of the town Jade ran down the block looking behind her for anyone until someone ran into her knocking them both down. "Watch it." Said a girl getting off of Jade. "Sorry wouldve been a better response. Im sorry." Said Jade getting up. She looked to see the girl had scraped her left knee where it was starting to bleed. "Hold on. Youre bleeding." Said Jade. "Uh I'll be fine. Why were you running?" Said the girl aft. "I could ask you the same thing. Since its my fault. Look at your knee again." Said Jade smiling before she walked away. The girl looked again seeing her knee was healed and her pant leg didnt have a tear. She looked back at Jade running to catch up to her calling her. "Hey. How did you do that?" Said the girl then looked around. "Doesnt matter okay." Said jade. "Wait a minute. Can i at least walk you home? Its dangerous to be out at night." Said the girl. "Its better than being with my parents. I can manage. Jade." Said Jade reaching her hand out. "Sara. Are you a run away?" Said Sara giving her a shake. "You have your issues since you did run off like i did." Said Jade. "Good point but listen if you're around. Im here to talk. Looks like you could use a friend." Said Sara then heard a noise. "I'll think about it." Said Jade. "And if you need help. Im here too." She says walking away turning the corner of a tree disappearing. Jade emerged in the middle of the woods looking around as her shoes stepped on the dey leaves making a crunching sound going further until there was some place to stay.
