He coughed out blood, as he looked at the blade that had successfully gotten through his dark matter armor and penetrated him. He tried to grab it and pull it out, but his hands were shaking too much, to make it worse his soul was getting damaged by the electricity flowing from the sword.
Blood was leaking out, as the people around him looked in terror. He frowned and looked at his enemy.
"You can't break fate Max, it's a sad fact but you were fated to die by my hand."
This damn reaper, what was his deal? Why was he targeting him, was it a personal grudge or something else? But the worst part was who was beside him, the man who was at fault for everything and the one who took everything from him. The Dragon King Axel.
'Where is she?'
He said while the blood that was flowing through the gaps in his teeth was slowly killing him.
"Huh? Who are you talking about?"
'Stop acting stupid you know who you little shit!'
Axel laughed. He was right, he already knew, but he wanted to make fun of Max.
"You're pretty persistent for a person who is about to die. You should have died the day when this all started."
Max wanted to get mad, but he couldn't, he had lost too much blood. So he did the last thing he could do and collapsed.
...
Who knew having fans was so exhausting? Apparently, a fan club for him was formed while he was admiring the Inn's bed. Those guy really know how to promote their stuff.
But he can't say he liked it, because of it he wasn't able to make any progress on his goals. Well, you could say he did with one. No one recognized him, so he could freely walk on the street, and he didn't hear anyone talk about the incident he had caused two years ago.
BANG
Hearing the noise he stumbled back, and he looked in the direction it came from.
'The school?'
...
It was a new day, another day full of teaching some brats. The woman sighed, being a teacher was harder than she thought. The only subject the kids liked and actually tried in was P.E., where they could fight each other. This generation was beyond saving, at least they paid her enough money to live a decent life. If only she was a little stronger, maybe she could have joined one of the guilds. The adventure guild would have been the best plan though.
She went to her class, and happily for them, it was P.E. time. They chose their adversaries and started fighting. This place was a hazard zone, drives were flying everywhere. The noise was definitely not very calming.
But as she was sipping her morning coffee and watching the kids fight he heard a voice, she looked in its direction expecting it to be a late student or another professor, instead, she was met by the reaper.
Her eyes darkness, as she stepped back. What was the right hand of the Dragon King doing here?
'W-What are you doing here!'
The kids hearing their teacher's nervous voice stopped fighting and looked at what was happening.
"Oh nothing, just doing the same thing you did. Invading the other continent's land."
'I can assure you, that no one here has ever been in the Dragon Continent.'
"Someone somewhere in this city has, and in the castle nevertheless."
'And what are you going to do?'
"What I'm going to do... live up to my title."
A flash of blue lightning appeared for a second then disappeared.
"What happens?"
But then a sharp pain appeared in her chest, and when she looked she saw a dagger inside. But how is it possible to be that fast?
Her students seeing this, joined the battle, the conjuguer were using their drives at a long distance, meanwhile the augmenters were fight fighting at close range.
But even with everyone attacking him, he dodged every attack that was thrown at him. And after defeating them all, he grabbed a blade from one of the students and prepared to finish off the teacher.
"Rest easy, you're not going to be the only one dying."
But as the sword was about to make contact, it was blocked by another.
The reaper laughed.
"I knew you would come, Max Solutus!"
...
After hearing the noise, he debated if he should check it, it would definitely lead to more trouble.
But his curiosity got the best of him, and now he got into another fight with the reaper himself.
'Yeah yeah, you damn psychopath.'
"Please call me Valdis, I don't like being called by my title in battle."
Max looked around at the injured students, luckily some had a healing drive, which was pretty rare. So they were able to heal their teach-
'Wait, do I know you?'
He said while looking at the teacher. He stared for a bit before he realized where he knew her from. She was his formal teacher, the woman who taught him the basic information about drives. Looks like she got rid of those glasses, which he was pleased by.
But that wasn't important right now, he had to figure something out to save the students and himself from this damn reaper.
He had to defeat him somehow. Not kill as that was beyond impossible, but defeat him.
He sighed and prepared to fight. But then he heard a voice.
"Don't worry, il help you this time"
'About time you useless dragon.'
