The attic was dimly lit, with faint beams of light slipping through the cracks in the wooden slats. Dust sat cross-legged on an old trunk, Cross leaned against the far wall with his arms crossed, and Killer paced the length of the room. The tension was thick, each of them stewing in their own thoughts. For once, there was no playful banter, no sarcastic quips—just the heavy silence that had settled after Fell and Horror left on their mission together.
Killer: "This is ridiculous," he muttered, breaking the quiet. "Horror's out there with our Fell, probably making him laugh or something. And we're stuck here like idiots."
Dust scoffed, his arms resting on his knees.
Dust: "You think Fell's laughing? The guy barely knows how to smile, let alone laugh."Cross: "He smiles at Horror."
The room went silent again as those words sank in. Killer stopped pacing, narrowing his sockets at Cross.
Killer: "Yeah, and that's the problem, isn't it? Horror's winning."Dust: "Winning what? There's no competition here."
Killer shot him a look, jabbing a finger in his direction.
Killer: "You say that, but you're just as mad about it as the rest of us. Don't deny it."Dust shrugged, his voice calm but sharp.
Dust: "I don't get mad. I get even."Cross: "What's there to get even for? Fell's not dating any of us right now."
Killer: "Exactly! And if he's gonna date anyone again, it sure as hell isn't gonna be Horror."
Cross sighed, rubbing his temples.
Cross: "You two are acting like Fell's some prize to be won. Did you forget that he dumped all of us at some point?"Dust: "He didn't dump me."
Killer snorted.
Killer: "Oh, please. He ended things with you just like he did with the rest of us. You're not special."Dust's glare darkened, and for a moment, it looked like he was ready to start a fight.
Dust: "I lasted a year with him. That's longer than you, Killer."
Killer: "Yeah, but not as long as Horror. Two whole years."
The mention of that number made the room grow colder. Even Cross, who usually tried to keep his composure, frowned.
Cross: "That's what makes this worse. Horror doesn't even remember their relationship. And yet Fell still acts like he's the most important person in the room."
Dust's voice was sharp and low.
Dust: "If he doesn't remember, then it's fair game. Horror doesn't have a claim to Fell any more than we do."Killer grinned, but there was an edge to it.
Killer: "Exactly. Which means we just have to make sure Horror doesn't win."Cross sighed again, his patience wearing thin.
Cross: "Do you even hear yourselves? This isn't a competition. Fell's not some trophy. If he wants to be with Horror, that's his choice."Killer: "And what if he doesn't know what he wants? What if he's just being 'nice' because of guilt or something?"
Dust smirked.
Dust: "Then we remind him why we were better for him. Each of us had something he liked, right? We just have to... bring it back to his attention."Cross frowned, crossing his arms tighter.
Cross: "This feels manipulative."Killer: "And what? You're just gonna sit back and let Horror steal him?"
Cross hesitated, his gaze dropping to the floor.
Cross: "I don't want to lose him either. But this... this is low, even for us."Killer rolled his eyes.
Killer: "Low or not, it's better than doing nothing. We're already losing him to Horror. You wanna just hand him over?"Dust's grin widened slightly.
Dust: "Killer's got a point. Besides, Fell's not the type to get swayed easily. If he's gonna come back to any of us, it'll be because he wants to."Cross didn't respond, the conflict evident on his face.
Killer clapped his hands together, his grin turning sly.
Killer: "So, we're in agreement then. No more letting Horror get the upper hand. It's time we reminded Fell why he was with us in the first place."Dust smirked, leaning back against the wall.
Dust: "Let the games begin."Cross sighed, finally relenting.
Cross: "Fine. But if this blows up in our faces, don't say I didn't warn you."The three of them shared a glance, their determination solidifying. They might have been exes, but none of them were ready to give up on Fell just yet.
Meanwhile, Fell and Horror were miles away, entirely unaware of the chaos brewing in the attic. But it was only a matter of time before the exes made their move.
This chapter dives into the exes' perspectives and sets up the tension for their future attempts to win Fell back. Let me know if you'd like to explore their plans or switch back to Fell and Horror's mission!
