Chapter 2.

PAULO’S POV.

Me: “Good morning.”

Time check, 7:42AM.

Nag stretch ako before I get up on my bed.

I felt like, kumakanta yung mga birds and chickens.

Ang relax kasi sa feeling e. It is very peaceful.

I open up my curtain para makita ang sunrise. And I simply went to the terrace.

Nakakita ako ng too many workers this early in the morning.

Grabe. Masipag nga talaga ang mga Filipinos.

I need to take a shower first bago ako kumain ng breakfast ko.

And 1… 2… 3… run to the bathroom!

Me: “Good morning Ma.” I kissed my Mom sa forehead niya.

Mom: “Oh hijo, you freshen up.” I just smiled and take a seat.

Me: “Ma, there are so many foods. Tayo lang naman ang kakain.”

I’m just asking her why she prepared too much food.

Mom: “Because, you’re here. And I want to prepare all you want.”

Me: “Mom, I’m on a diet.” She laugh.

Mom: “I’m sorry about this my son. You know, I just missed you.”

I gave her my sweetest smile.

Me: “Well, thank you Ma. You’re the best Mom ever.” Nagtawanan kami ng slight.

Mom: “Tikman mo na lang. You said that you missed these kind of foods? Then, your wish is my command.”

Me: “But Mom, I need some work out too.”

Mom: “Then, I’m sorry about it.” We both laugh.

Ganyan talaga ang Mommy ko. She wants me to be happy as always.

She hates it kapag napapahiya siya sa’kin. And ayaw talaga niyang nangyayari yun.

Me: “By the way…” She looked to me. “Si dad? He’s in Manila pa rin, right?”

Mom: “Oh, yes. He did.”

Me: “I miss him.”

Mom: “He misses us too.” Mom smiled.

Si dad? Okay, let us make it clear.

Ang totoong father ko… he died 10 years ago.

So, yung dad na tinatanong ko kay mommy is my stepfather.

The story behind my childhood? Okay. Ayoko ng balikan yun. It is done. It’s over.

Mabait naman talaga sa’min ang stepdad ko. And he really loves us.

Pero itong hacienda namin? Is from my real daddy.

Ayokong-ayoko na kasing kinekwento ang past. Kahit ano pang past. And sa lahat ng things, yun ang pinaka hate ko… ang binabalikan ang past.

Mom: “Hijo?” I looked to my beautiful mom. “Gusto mo mag tour here sa hacienda?”

Me: “Oh, Mom! I’m very interested to that.”
